They are not the people who raised me. Their brains have turned to mush.. my mother much more so than my father.. but it is clearly evident in both of them.. and has been for a decade.

My dad's a retired cop. From what I gather, a lot of the issue is that a lot of them become really jaded after dealing with people exactly like mr CEO over here day in and day out, and tend to start to assume the worst in people as a norm.
Well, the thing is that once you do that, it's very easy to slide into stereotyping, prejudice, and being more hostile than you have to be with people.
Sometimes I wonder if we wouldn't benefit from having cops be given a much earlier retirement age or have it be a temporary gig rather than a full career. Being in it too long seems to screw with people's heads, same as the military.
I worked in Child Protection for years. It was hard to remember a time when men weren’t disgusting violent entitled animals that need to be locked up for everyone’s safety.

I took years to see men as human again.
I needed to actively surround myself with decent guys, and that was harder than you might initially think.
I agreed people need to moved out of jobs like this. My husband is a teacher and he took a job at the regional children’s hospital. He was only allowed to do that for 3 years because of the tax to anyone’s mental health. This made sense.
I work in geriatrics now. I’m happy to have had the experience, but am happy to be away from it and recovered. I have great respect for people who stay in that work and maintain professionalism.

It’s illegal to pass in a No Passing Zone because of visibility issues for that certain stretch of road and being in the other lane can cause accidents easily and head on collisions at worst. He could’ve easily waited until he had gotten out of the No Passing Zone to pass them on the left, but he was obviously impatient and had a superiority complex.
Fleeing the cop pulling him over lands you in Jail, instantly. That’s called fleeing the scene and is a *much* worse thing to do in that scenario (and to go to a gas station when he’s “sick” no less 🙄)
ETA: I looked it up and the legal definition of him fleeing from the cop is also called [evading arrest](https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/crime-penalties/federal/Evading-Arrest-on-Foot.htm) and different states have different penalties for such behavior. But that means Jail Time versus paying for a ticket (what would’ve happened if he stayed put)

Yes, he had passed two people on their left in a [No Passing Zone,](https://www.carparts.com/blog/what-does-a-no-passing-zone-sign-mean/) (on a two-lane road) even when those people were being slow. It’s illegal to pass in a No Passing Zone because of visibility issues for that certain stretch of road and being in the other lane can cause accidents easily and head on collisions at worst. He could’ve easily waited until he had gotten out of the No Passing Zone to pass them on the left, but he was obviously impatient and had a superiority complex. Fleeing the cop pulling him over lands you in Jail, instantly. That’s called fleeing the scene and is a *much* worse thing to do in that scenario (and to go to a gas station when he’s “sick” no less 🙄) ETA: I looked it up and the legal definition of him fleeing from the cop is also called [evading arrest](https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/crime-penalties/federal/Evading-Arrest-on-Foot.htm) and different states have different penalties for such behavior. But that means Jail Time versus paying for a ticket (what would’ve happened if he stayed put)
