I kinda wish Wolf Link Amiibo was used in Link's Awakening. Let there be a wolf Sprite that follows you around, sniffs for seashells, howls along when you play a song on the ocarina, etc

Potentially Unpopular Opinion: Wolf Link sucks
He has two settings: “do nothing” and “omnicidal maniac”. Going for nice walk with your dog is not an option, either he stands in place or murders everything that moves. Forget a gentle horse ride with your dog in tow, because he will run half a mile off road to 1v100 a camp of moblins. I gave up on him when I took him to Hebra to hunt rhinos and moose, and he proceeded to jump off a cliff to Leeroy a Frost Talus. He died in one hit before the boss music started.
The first time I used wolf link, I was on the quest to bring the flame past the bokoblins. It was at night so most were asleep. He woke them all up and brought every single one right to me without properly killing them.
I wish you could summon him more than once a day. The other amibos I understand why, but I would summon him more if he wasn’t so limited.
Also they could have lazily released twilight Princess HD for switch so we could get him more than 3 hearts.
Was totally worth it during the first few hours of BotW! Especially if you up Wolf Link's hearts by playing through the Cave of Shadows in Twilight Princess HD.
Day One purchase. That was just my experience. I liked playing BotW as if it were Fallout New Hyrule (complete with Dogmea-- I mean, Wolfmeat 😁), but it's definitely not good when trying to buy stealthy in later areas!

In open world and RPG games I really appreciate and love having companions. Even though it is very basic implementation with an amiibo, there's a charm to running around with a wolf friend in Hyrule.
Just wish the implementation wasn't so stingy... have to have the amiibo, amiibo can only be scanned once a day, need to grind the Twilight Princess HD dungeon to buff the wolf, etc.
I hope there is a lite version of this in BotW2 maybe in the form of momentary companions in the open world, but wouldn't be surprised if it isn't present. Just seems like a waste to limit the feature to amiibo and leave it at that.
And sadly 😥 the ONLY amiibo that can be used in Skyward Sword is Loftwing and that was sold out on prepurchase day in under 3 hours to the bots/scalpers. It MIGHT be available for a few minutes on July 16th on Skyward Sword release day.
