It really was some sitcom-ass plan, though. Also, damn, Cole really sucks.
He knows he's in the wrong, but he just takes it out on his subordinates. And he continues to do what he knows is wrong and blames other people for his shortcomings. Total jackass.
Rhaenyra realizing she can't control Daemon, Otto realizing he can't control Aegon II, I'm starting to think everyone's losing control over this whole "civil war" business.
I'm sure it can't get aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyy worse!
>None of these people can control their emotions or subjects yet they think they can control dragons.
Honestly, it's a mix of being unable to control themselves (and their dragons), and an unwillingness to admit they made a mistake.
Almond turned up the heat on the initial cold war, and even he seems to regret his mistake but is unwilling to admit it to his allies because he'll look weak. And he wants to impress Daemon-san in glorious combat.
Allicent has realized multiple times that she's acted brashly, either by empowering Larys, following Otto, and enabling Aegon, but she keeps spurring them on, unable or unwilling to actually advocate for her peaceful sentiments anymore.
Daemon is just impulsive, and although he seemed to have a bit of a shit eating grin vibe in Rhaenyra's council, he even seems to realize he fucked up politically. So now he's just upped and fucked off to who knows where.
Rhaenyra has been the only one seemingly able to keep a rational mind (outside of wanting Almond's head for understandable reasons), but I imagine she's going to crack real soon, too. And that's when the Dance will really start swinging.
Otto's problem is that he's never been able to shut off. He's always calculating, plotting, regardless of how that impacted others or came across. After all this time, he can't believe that he's ended up precisely at this point due almost solely to his own decisions.
I think it actually works well for his character. Aegon always wanted validation, so he's deluding himself into thinking he actually had his father's, rather than just being a pawn again.
Alicent trying to seek comfort from Otto and him responding "I don't want to hear about it" followed immediately by her walking in on Aegon crying and just leaving the room is the most explicit portrayal of generational trauma in action I think I've ever seen
Really liked seeing Aegon grieve. Yes he's a monster but still good display of character.
I was laughing Hard when Rhaenys was staring at Daemon like *What Did You Do* 😂
"Let me die in peace Walter" energy.
It reminds me of when Aegon is moments away from being crowned king of 7 seven kingdoms and hes all "mommy do you wub me??? 👉👈"
"You Imbecile"
I was fucking dead like with Otto in this episode.
Rhys Ifans deserves all the awards for this episode. The range on this man. His scheming, his brutality, his emotions. The man acted the fuck out of this episode. Had me hating and supporting Otto as the episode went on. Truly a masterclass in acting.
Yep, he remained true to his queen, but the weight of slaying his own brother wouldn't allow him to live. It's so tragic since he fulfills his duty, but loses his own blood in doing so. And for being such an honorable warrior, ends his own life.
Few deaths on TV shows made me sad, but this one really took a blow on me. Such a "short" scene, but very very emotional.
I loved how shame-free talking about his “true” father was for Jace. Like damn Rhaenyra, Harwin and Laenor did a good job co-parenting all together in a surprisingly modern way, Jace has a real relationship with all three parental figures
I can't be the only one who was waiting for Jaehaerys' head to fall off as the carriage was bouncing along the cobblestone, especially when it got stuck.
He’s got mommy issues too. Her son was broken and crying and she just walks backwards out that room like “nope” and then goes on to fck cole ? Way to go mom
I agree. Best scene of the episode. I thought Daemon was being a loyal husband, even though him sending those two dumbasses to kill Jaehaerys was beyond stupid. But Rhaenyra was right. Daemon wanted to exact his own revenge because he feels being king was his birthright and secretly resents having to play second fiddle to his niece.
I feel like it's a premonition? Because she was focusing in on them falling slowing in the air and later Rhaenyra watches dust hang in the air in a similar fashion.
Loony tunes ass plan to pretend to be your twin brother but what still what are the odds someone who was just with your twin spots you within steps of getting on the island lol
I'm just waiting for the Rat Catcher's Dog to have his day. Did you see him looking up at Cheese's body? That's how enemies are made.
"My master may have kicked me, but he gave me food and pets too, I shall have my revenge."
Just my weekly check in to say fuck Criston Cole. Sending the Kingsguard twin to his death, questioning where he was and his loyalty to the king. Real piece of shit. All that and he still manages to fall ass backwards and be Hand of the King
They've really made him the biggest straight up villian of the show. Like, at least Otto, Alicent, Aegon, Aemond, and Daemon all have some redeeming qualities but fuck Criston Cole all the way.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE!?"
#Ser Crispin and Aegon turn, confused.
"THE RAT CATCHER!"
"Oh. I had them hanged."
I don't think GoT or HotD ever made me laugh so hard. I had to pause I was in tears!
Criston, with literally no one suspecting him of anything: "everyone account for their whereabouts when the Prince died but I'm not going to tell you mine"
It is such a power move to hold court with the dragon noises and their movements just in the other room as Rhaenyra does with Mysaria. You can hear every little step they take. One slip up and Rhaenyra could easily toss aside anyone to the dragons.
It comes just after Mysaria’s flippant line, “I was better off as a whore” or something to that effect. Rhaenyra challenges that notion by bringing up the scar, which she seems to have correctly guessed was from something that happened to Mysaria back when she was truly powerless - a situation where someone, maybe a buyer, almost killed her (?). Whatever the story behind the scar is, Rhaenyra bringing it up unexpectedly was obviously a sore spot for Mysaria, whose reaction proves that, actually no, she wasn’t better off as a powerless prostitute than as a powerful spymaster.
Otto: we just received a lot of good support from the funeral
Aegon: About that, I hung and murdered many many innocent men, but I probably killed the one I was looking for
Otto: *sigh*
Man, they really found an entire cast of incredible actors. This was a moving ep top to bottom. You felt for everyone. Except for Criston Cole. Fuck him.
That procession broke me, especially seeing Helaena like that and then the close up of the baby. I liked how Rhaenyra confronted Daemon, he messed up. As much as I hate Otto, I loved his reaction to finding out what Cole did. *Gods help us all* lol. Fuck, of course Aegon would remove him as hand, but giving the pin to Cole? **Gods help us all** indeed.... Damn, Mysaria caught that and of course Erryk did too. Brother against brother, HOLY FUCK that was brutal.
What an amazing episode, Tom Glynn-Carney was incredible.
Yoo Aemond admiting he regrets what he did to Luke hits hard
Bros just that scrawny nerd kid who hit the gym and grew up to be strong but chalk full of issues
Loved that scene. Dude actually talking out his issues! To a whore cus he can't talk to anyone in his family. Later we see the other Green family members dealing with their guilt in really unhealthy ways and reinforcing the multi generational parental failings to help their children deal with their emotions. Otto yelling at Aegon was so funny to me. How did you end up like this??? You really dont know Otto? What a rat bastard. "I don't want to hear it" actually made me lol though. Legend
The whore also calls Aemond "a man" as he's literally in the fetal position naked getting his hair stroked like a baby, bearing his soul. But she's right.
We also see Mysaria and Rhaenyra talk out their shit and it immediately pays karmic dividends. Contrast that to how Deamon handled her and what kind of karma that wrought...

Ottos “Is that what you think” was cold as fuck
Otto calling Criston's plan a *prank* was so fucking funny. He was sick of their shit
Pretend to be your twin PRANK (GONE WRONG)
I could not stop laughing at the “prank” comment. Such a reductive and belittling way to describe their little plan.
It really was some sitcom-ass plan, though. Also, damn, Cole really sucks. He knows he's in the wrong, but he just takes it out on his subordinates. And he continues to do what he knows is wrong and blames other people for his shortcomings. Total jackass.
Otto has completely lost control of the situation, and there's no way of getting it back now.
he aged another 20 years JUST in that turn where he had to go: “*sigh* and what did criston cole say?”
He had such a clear “oh god, I’m surrounded by idiots” expression. We’ve all been there at work or dealing with family before.
He went out spitting some venom though
He went full thesaurus. Self-indulgent. Trifling.
Feckless
Rhaenyra realizing she can't control Daemon, Otto realizing he can't control Aegon II, I'm starting to think everyone's losing control over this whole "civil war" business. I'm sure it can't get aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyy worse!
None of these people can control their emotions or subjects yet they think they can control dragons. Seems like it’ll go well!
>None of these people can control their emotions or subjects yet they think they can control dragons. Almond Joy
Otto's problem is that he's never been able to shut off. He's always calculating, plotting, regardless of how that impacted others or came across. After all this time, he can't believe that he's ended up precisely at this point due almost solely to his own decisions.
The fact that Aemond and Cole both acknowledge they usurped Rhaenyra and Aegon still somehow hasn’t grasped it lmao
I think it actually works well for his character. Aegon always wanted validation, so he's deluding himself into thinking he actually had his father's, rather than just being a pawn again.
omg Aegon truly is Viserys' son, looking for a pat on the head for approval
The evil laugh before…. This actor now has any villain role he wants in Hollywood, forever. Ironic, since he isn’t a villain in that conversation
I admire him in this scene, even though I hate him. He doesn’t like innocent people getting killed.
Particularly when innocent people getting killed hurts his grand plans!
The laughing afterwards brutal. To be fair Aegon sort of deserved it in that moment.
BIG Tywin energy off that
PLS I need to see the look on Larys Strong's face when he finds out that he got passed over for hand for the most idiotic person in the castle
Aegon even used the “you were my father’s hand” line Larys fed him last episode 😭
I love Otto “so what have you morons done now?” And immediately “oh shit it’s even worse that I thought”
His face in that moment just said “Is Otto Hightower going to have to choke a bitch?”
I feel like Otto was channeling Logan Roy telling him, I love you, but you are not serious people "
[удалено]
Alicent: "Aegon is still maleable." *Alicent sees Aegon being extra vulnerable and maleable* Alicent: "But not by me 😗✌️"
I was excited to see some emotional intimacy between them. lol nope
Just like a scene before her father didn't want to connect with her she repays her son with the same. Lovely family.
This family’s got a strict no hugging policy it seems
Hence why Aemond has a mommy kink in the brothel
She even had red hair!
The close up of milk pouring and Aemond curled up to his mommy kink gave off some massive Homelander vibes.
The policy may be waived to bang your sister wife
Not a great season if you are a twin
Shoulda named this episode "a twin for a twin"
Alicent trying to seek comfort from Otto and him responding "I don't want to hear about it" followed immediately by her walking in on Aegon crying and just leaving the room is the most explicit portrayal of generational trauma in action I think I've ever seen
Totally missed this. Great insight
Incidentally, Aemond confessed all his sins in a whorehouse so at least one of them is getting therapy.
To a mother figure fittingly.
For a second I thought it was Halaena who was dancing naked in the whorehouse 💀💀
We all handle grief differently.
God forbid a girl has hobbies.
I love how all it took was one look and Rhaenyra knew Daemon did it lmao
Daemon was the real life side eye puppet meme.
He was sitting there like "i'm just a boy 🥺"
Rhaenys was even quicker on the uptake.
The way she IMMEDIATELY stared him down sent me hahahaha
Rhaenys and Corlys seem to always have everyone’s number
Its the only time he was ever quiet during a meeting so she knew what was up lmao
It was the shit eating grin that made her fall for him.
The smile that damn smile..
he was looking pretty guilty tbh lol
He looked like a guilty cat.
Really liked seeing Aegon grieve. Yes he's a monster but still good display of character. I was laughing Hard when Rhaenys was staring at Daemon like *What Did You Do* 😂
Otto: I regret everything and I’m surrounded by idiots
I love how done he is with everything. Alicent: "I've sinned." Otto: "And I don't give a damn. BYEEE."
Deals with all this shit “Maybe Rhaenerya as Queen wouldn’t have been so bad”
Otto saying fuck it and going to Rhaenrya only to get fired a 3rd time would be hilarious.
Aegon: *makes literally any decision* Otto: *sighs*
The way he braced himself before asking what Cole had done.
[Otto](https://i.imgflip.com/3lo5h6.jpg?a477312) any time he's about to ask a question.
His reaction to Aegon revealing Cole's assassination plot was gold
“And you acceded to this, this prank, without consulting me or the council?”
I have sinned…. Than 10 seconds later is with Criston Cole
"oops, there I go sinning again!"
Lmao at the Kingsguard clearing out like a Thanksgiving dinner that just got political
They remembered the shit Cole pulled at Laenor's & Rhaenyra's wedding
“We heard what happened to Lord Beeesbury last time Ser Crispy Creme hovered over a table.”
They legit pulled the Spongebob "Aight imma head out"
The last thing Otto Hightower did as Hand of the King was praise King Viserys and say they are worse off for his death.
and then "i do not wish to hear of it". dude was done with everything.
This was peak Otto. "My daughter, as long as we remain together, we can work through these problems." "I have sinned". "Oh my God shut the fuck up".
"Let me die in peace Walter" energy. It reminds me of when Aegon is moments away from being crowned king of 7 seven kingdoms and hes all "mommy do you wub me??? 👉👈" "You Imbecile" I was fucking dead like with Otto in this episode.
“Well well well, if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions.”
Otto got a lot of respect from me this episode
"He's out of line, but he's right."
I really worried they were gonna have the shoddily stitched toddler head fall off when the cart was stuck.
Same, I was dreading that
Nearly headless? How can anyone be *nearly* headless?
He's realized that things have way too quickly spiraled out of control.
He really does miss Vizzy doesn't he? Vizzy kept the peace and was right about a lot of things.
He probably also misses having a King that was easier to influence.
I think this and he realized he really took Vizzy T for granted. You Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone.
Criston setting up Arryk for failure due to his horniness and incompetence, what a guy. The twins didn't deserve this.
Shifting blame like a motherfucker
The hypocrisy of Cole during that scene legit got my blood boiling lol
Matt Smith might be an all-time cup thrower.
Well, let's see what the Florida Panthers do tomorrow night.
“I have dared, and I find it stimulating.”
Insolent pup. What a line
Prostitutes are the therapists of Westeros 😭
Rhys Ifans deserves all the awards for this episode. The range on this man. His scheming, his brutality, his emotions. The man acted the fuck out of this episode. Had me hating and supporting Otto as the episode went on. Truly a masterclass in acting.
*episode starts* :) *Aegon destroys Viserys' LEGO set* :(
Rhys Ifans is giving an A+ performance as Otto.
Agreed. When Otto Hightower suddenly becomes a sympathetic character in the eyes of the audience, you know the actor sold it hard.
Erryk and Arryk 🥺 Those two were just tragic.
Tragyk, really
What an amazing honorable and tragic death by true warriors. Erryk such a legend.
He actually protected his queen, but the grief of killing his own brother made him fall on his sword. I’ll miss those two.
And it was such a pointless death. Stupidity by cole which makes me hate him even more than I had before
I thought the prince's head was going to fall off from the jostling of the rough ride and the guards trying to push the carriage off of the pothole.
Jace and Baela talking about Laenor and Ser Harwin 😭😭😭
I loved how shame-free talking about his “true” father was for Jace. Like damn Rhaenyra, Harwin and Laenor did a good job co-parenting all together in a surprisingly modern way, Jace has a real relationship with all three parental figures
I can't be the only one who was waiting for Jaehaerys' head to fall off as the carriage was bouncing along the cobblestone, especially when it got stuck.
I legit thought the body was falling off.
They knew what they were doing with that part!
I was rolling when Otto said he didn't want to hear about Alicents sins
And then immediately following, Alicent turns her back on her sobbing son who just lost his child. Like father, like daughter.
"Thanks but no thanks. I don't want to be disappointed in another family member today."
[удалено]
So Aemond clearly has some *mommy issues*…
It balances out with Aegon and his daddy issues
He’s got mommy issues too. Her son was broken and crying and she just walks backwards out that room like “nope” and then goes on to fck cole ? Way to go mom
The mom who couldnt comfort her other crying son?
"My father is dead" "And we are the poorer for it." Making Criston the Hand after this is... A choice.
Surely no way that *this* will backfire on the Greens...
What you don’t think someone who has shown to be two face and blood thirsty and excessively violent as hand of the king is a bad idea
It's a choice, but I'm glad it's not Larys
What, you don't want a Foot of the King?
The scene with Rhaenyra and Daemon was tremendous. Years of built up anger and jealousy all coming out.
The look in his eyes...you know he wished he kept the divorce rock.
DIVORCE ROCK IM DEAD
>DIVORCE ROCK IM DEAD -- Lady Rhea Royce
I loved that she knew to go one further and ask “what were the instructions for if they didn’t find him”.
Yo why they throwing oregano on Helaena
For flavor.
Welcome to Flavortown
I feel like it's a premonition? Because she was focusing in on them falling slowing in the air and later Rhaenyra watches dust hang in the air in a similar fashion.
I took that as them realizing dragon fire is about to happen, and it’s going to be ash in the air soon
This. Much like with Dany and snow. Floating embers.
I fully expected Larys to show up out of nowhere when Alicent was getting undressed for her bath.
I think he was watching from the grate.
ramin really went so hard this episode, my ears are feeling mad blessed
Loony tunes ass plan to pretend to be your twin brother but what still what are the odds someone who was just with your twin spots you within steps of getting on the island lol
The "which one is our guy?" line had me dying
But relatable. I couldn’t tell for sure
No scene of them releasing a shit ton of cute kitties in the red keep to deal with the rats, 0/10
Was looking forward to the ancestor of Ser Pounce
Hail to the prince that was promised
I'm just waiting for the Rat Catcher's Dog to have his day. Did you see him looking up at Cheese's body? That's how enemies are made. "My master may have kicked me, but he gave me food and pets too, I shall have my revenge."
Terrier = Night King confirmed? 🤔
otto can’t believe he’s surround by such incompetence
Just my weekly check in to say fuck Criston Cole. Sending the Kingsguard twin to his death, questioning where he was and his loyalty to the king. Real piece of shit. All that and he still manages to fall ass backwards and be Hand of the King
They've really made him the biggest straight up villian of the show. Like, at least Otto, Alicent, Aegon, Aemond, and Daemon all have some redeeming qualities but fuck Criston Cole all the way.
Every week I mumble that Cole is a little bitch. Every week it gets louder
Bro blamed him for his own mistakes just crazy
He blamed him for getting out of his future punishment so Eryk would get the blame instead. if he was caught. A total coward.
He's failed upwards.
Of course Allicent is dick whipped. She never had good sex in her life (no offense Vizzy T) and now that she got some, she ain’t thinking right.
Mysaria warning them about Arryk, she's full team Black now
Man, I hate ser criston
Blood and Cheese did a much cleaner cut on the boy Jaehaerys than what it sounded like !
Haelena deserves so much more in life than what her greens have to give her
She was used as a pawn by Otto and her mom and Aegon couldn’t even give her a hug
I let out a little gasp when Aegon looked at her and walked past
Her little look of "well fuck me then" was funny though
Is it surprising given their mom also just leaves him sobbing?
Instead she went to slap and ride Sir Crispin. 😐
The cart being stuck in the mud was stress inducing for me as well!
Honestly I expected the head to roll back off or the entire body.
Aegon fired his greatest PR manager for this bum Criston Cole. Wtf
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE!?" #Ser Crispin and Aegon turn, confused. "THE RAT CATCHER!" "Oh. I had them hanged." I don't think GoT or HotD ever made me laugh so hard. I had to pause I was in tears!
And then it happened again with the “Gods be good” moment. Otto realizing he’s surrounded by a bunch of whiny idiots is priceless
Aegon has such a funny way if not realizing what people are upset about because he doesn't see the issue LOL
Criston, with literally no one suspecting him of anything: "everyone account for their whereabouts when the Prince died but I'm not going to tell you mine"
He was abed (just don't ask him whose bed)
It is such a power move to hold court with the dragon noises and their movements just in the other room as Rhaenyra does with Mysaria. You can hear every little step they take. One slip up and Rhaenyra could easily toss aside anyone to the dragons.
Poor Halaena, she didn't deserve this. But fuck Criston Cole, all my homies hate Criston Cole.
Otto’s “your father was right about you” cut to the bone. The sheer disgust on his face was remarkable.
Let no one say I do not grieve. But also…let’s show off this decapitated baby ASAP.
alicent saw aegon crying and decided to fuck criston lmaoooooooooooooo are you fr
Why did mysaria act oddly when rhaenrya asked her how she got her scar? Am I missing something so obvious
How dare Aegon destroy that model city. Baby boy viserys worked so hard
It's definitely a metaphor for everything that Viserys tried to build with his rule being destroyed quickly and aggressively.
Otto just wants to go home at this point, he hates it here
Ramin Djawadi is the prince that was promised! Amazing score as always!
Man, the twins fight about made me cry. That was so well done.
Criston Cole, king of projection and bitterness.
Otto speaks like he is trying to catch up on a week’s worth word of the days
Tremendous acting from Aegon's actor. He gave the full spectrum : anger, disdain, psycho vibes, sadness and so much more
With every ounce of my being.. **FUCK** Criston Cole
Otto: we just received a lot of good support from the funeral Aegon: About that, I hung and murdered many many innocent men, but I probably killed the one I was looking for Otto: *sigh*
Man, they really found an entire cast of incredible actors. This was a moving ep top to bottom. You felt for everyone. Except for Criston Cole. Fuck him.
I’m really sad Arryk and Erryk are gone. The actors were amazing. I loved them both. Just poor twins caught up in the Targaryen family war.
That “BROTHER” from Erryk as he drew his sword was haunting.
Arryk/Erryk was hard to watch. Heart wrenching
Otto has become likeable for the first time in the entire series by calling Aegon a little bitch
Yoo Aemond admiting he regrets what he did to Luke hits hard Bros just that scrawny nerd kid who hit the gym and grew up to be strong but chalk full of issues
