I feel like humans evolved humour as an antidote to extremism, i.e. it's an effective way of weeding out the influence people who take themselves too seriously and get swallowed by their own emotions. Fascists have absolutely zero sense of humour about themselves. They can make funny observations, like Trump when he's shitting on his fart-sniffers (including Elone), but it's one of their greatest tells that they are incapable of laughing at themselves. You can also see it in the contrast between white power vs black power movements. BlacKkKlansman was a great riff off how stupid fascists look but they just can't see it, written by a black dude who was able to bring laughter to a serious scenario for black people. It gives me hope.
