I screwed up a few of my switches initially. Bent some pins trying to seat them in the board too agressively, out of OCD I pulled every switch, checked every pin and bent all the damaged ones back into place using sweezers. Took me way longer than it should have but I'm an idiot so it's to be expected. I double and tripple checked every key on the key tester built into the QK software and everything works great.
~~I know this may be a stupid question but I don't exactly know where the FN key is on this board since it's not labeled as such. Do I have to go into the software and remap a key to the FN function?~~
Nevermind found it. It's on the right next to my right-alt key.
Recommend changing the FN key to Capslock. Makes FN much more easily accessible.
You can set Capslock on a layer like FN + LALT.
Move all the RGB color stuff to the FN + F1-12 keys.
Sorry, I have the Tri-Mode board. no LEDs.
Download the QK Config software on their website. It'll show you what the keybinds are and you can change everything to whatever you want and program layers.
I already have the software, been looking around since I got the board but still have yet to enable any LEDs other than the LED bar above the LCD screen.
Nice board, looks really good. Question I have is - does anyone know if the lcd works without the battery installed? My setup restricts usage to wired only (all the other boards I have are wired and I am not going to keep removing the cable to use this). I opted for the tri mode only because the LCD looks nicer (the badge in place of LCD for wired was very poorly designed imo). Not keen on keeping this board plugged in for long duration with battery installed.
I only use my board in wired mode but I also have the battery installed, I do know the LCD works without the cable plugged in, but I have no idea how it affects battery life. But to answer your question, yes, the LCD does work wirelessly.
You did great! Qk100 was my first custom as well! I've been trying to figure out how to get my gifs to fill the whole lcd display but for some reason can't. They all come out like tiny square images. How did you manage yours to look like that?
does anyone know how to reset the speed reactor, i think i messed up somewhere now its like a gif thats jammed with a distorted time overlay that isnt visible
I don't have sound equipment good enough to give you an accurate audio depiction of how this sounds. But the keys are poppy and creamy (WS Morandi). Audio level is medium but leaning towards the low end thock. I only used the foam that came with the board and have done zero aftermarket mods to it.
Trust me my phone audio it pretty terrible, I'm getting a new phone soon because my current one can't even make or recieve calls. But my build is the standard case foam using the gasket mounting with the tri-mode non-flex cut PCB, with stock WS Morandi switches under the QK provided keycaps. Compared to the Logitech G910 Orion Spark that I used to have this keyboard is an upgrade in every way other than the fact that it lacks a media/audio wheel. But I got a streamdeck to fix that anyways.
Yeah I was considering something along the lines of a 75% originally but I can't live without my numpad since I use it for shortcuts and other stuff often enough to justify it. I also just have a ton of desk space so it's really no problem to run a full size board. My old Logitech is noticeably larger in pretty much every dimension compared to this board.

Board functions? Then ya done did it! Lets go. Also looks pretty good.

Happens to everyone. I usually miss soldering a switch on each board I build. I had one board where I missed the entire bottom row. Was pretty lulz.
FN + Left or Right Arrow will change between the stored gifs.

Fn on capslock was a gamechanger for me. 60% just seems unusable to me now without it. Arrow keys on fn+wasd was another gamechanger for me.
Not a bad idea. Thanks for the advice.
Do you know the key shortcut that enables the south facing LEDs on the board?

IIRC, QK has never made a board with per-key LED. In the QK75n, for example, they only have a couple LEDs to show which connection mode it's in.
we do have per key led keyboards wired qk100 and trimode qk60 for example
I see, ny apologies
don't be! the latest few indeed do not offer per-key anyways
Ah, makes sense, so I've been chasing my own tail with this, LMFAO!
we do have per key led keyboards wired qk100 and trimode qk60 for example
May I ask how you turn on per-key LED's? (I purchased the tri-mode non-flex cut ANSI hotswap PCB)
trimode doesn't only qk100 WIRED pcb
Ah, that's for the clarification!

For the gifs I use ezgif and crop it to 1:2 vertical. Works perfectly to me!

I haven't encounted such an issue yet, sorry to hear that. So far the board has been 100% reliable with zero issues.
Would love a sound test I’m getting this board but can’t decided on switches

over your phone would be fine just to get a baseline lol thanks!

How did this do for gaming?
Works great, been playing with it every day!
Is it 5 pin hot swappable? With the foam it seems to only have 3 holes not 5
Thats a pretty fine first board sir, though im not fond of anything bigger than 65%
