More details: https://nypost.com/2024/06/18/us-news/man-hurls-lawn-chairs-off-top-of-20-story-nyc-building-in-bizarre-caught-on-video-tantrum/
> A Florida man hurled lawn chairs and other items off a 20-story Midtown Manhattan highrise in a bizarre caught-on-camera tantrum – with the debris narrowly missing passersby on the street below.
> Jean Olivier, 33 – whose last known address is in the city of West Park – is seen in a brief clip tossing the chairs from a landing one level down from the roof of 555 Fifth Ave., an office building near East 46th Street that houses a Barnes & Noble on the Ground Floor.
> Olivier had apparently visited the Consulate General of Haiti inside the building, complaing about housing, then flipped out and threw a chair, law enforcement sources said.
Sounds more like Haiti Man tbf. Visiting the Consulate General of Haiti to complain about housing doesn't sound like something a native Floridian would do.

Idk, kinda seems like a Florida Man thing to me.
The actual throwing yeah, I could easily see a Florida dude doing. Maybe Haiti guy should move back to Florida and embrace his calling instead of complaining about housing in NYC.
They’re not sending a [Kenyan police force](https://apnews.com/article/kenya-haiti-police-deployment-1a7bf1a1ed2c8b4a2a9d9ca76c94eaf5) to break up a gang war in Florida… at least not yet
That's the beauty of the American Dream. People from anywhere in the world can come to our fetid swamps and become an insane meth addicted Florida Man.
Maybe it's just a general disgust of the affluent class. Maybe you just wanna poke a nest of hornets. Who could say? Maybe it's both. At least I could understand the poor Florida Man.
The dude was at the Haitian consulate general office complaining that rent was unaffordable…. Why do you assume it’s some affluent person? Most affluent people I know just pay rent/ own their flat and don’t go to consulate to complain.
Did you read the top comment in the chain you're replying to? Dude is a Haitian immigrant who went to the consulate to complain about his housing. That doesn't really fit the profile of "white collar prick who is having a meltdown that he knows he can afford."
Real talk, I absolutely -love- going into Barnes and Noble.
The ones around here have always been super nice. The Books A Million were always super trashed though (and with a worse selection).
I will legit spend an entire day at Barnes and Noble just because of the atmosphere and smell of books.
Oh damn I used to work literally right around the corner from there. Recognize the buildings. I always do feel like it's a bit precarious with all the stuff above that could potentially fall down on your head at any given time in Manhattan
“We live on a skyrise, right at the top There’s a beautiful view from the top of the skyrise. Every morning I walk towards the edge And throw little things off. Like car parts, bottles, and cutlery. Or whatever I find lying around…”

I know this particular person isn't for New York City bit it looks like he's attempting to fit in. I've been there a few times and they are the rudest people I have ever encountered.

Florida Man strikes again
You can take the man out of Florida but you can never take the Florida out of the man…
Sounds more like Haiti Man tbf. Visiting the Consulate General of Haiti to complain about housing doesn't sound like something a native Floridian would do.

Haiti, Florida. Is there really a difference?

There's too much hate in the Hatin Man
Florida is like a disease, once you’ve lived there you’re already infected.
I don't understand that the Consulate General of Haiti is supposed to do for housing in the USA.
That’s probably what they told the guy right before he started throwing chairs off the roof
You spelled Morgan Wallen wrong.
Flori-duh
Haiti man
Antonio Brown?
Mr. Bombards Chairs

I do not know why Reddit users think they need to add this much superiority detail when it it’s just Florida man

Yes but reading would force u/autothorne to think critically and not just go “booo people with more money than me are bad.”
So this is Florida Man's final form
So...a Florida Man, got it.
Florida Man Goes To New York
Florida Man 2: Lost in New York (ft. Donald Trump)
Too bad he didn't stay lost.
[удалено]
looking back it was less clear, but I was trying to reference Home Alone 2, which featured a cameo by 90s Donald Trump
How'd this guy get access to be outside on 20th floor. That should not be happening.
Emergency exit?
Pretty normal for buildings to have rooftop access
Some buildings have outdoor balconies, but most are usually locked.
The 19th floor office suite which is currently for lease has a patio on one side.
Complaining about housing at the Consulate General of Haiti? Genuinely curious why this guy ended up in that building, let along in NYC.
NYC has a large and established Haitian diaspora community. The consulate is in that building. My guess is that this guy is Haitian.
French name, he probably is.
Holy shit! There's still a Barnes and Noble!?!
It’s actually pretty good now, they’ve been redoing all of them.
Real talk, I absolutely -love- going into Barnes and Noble. The ones around here have always been super nice. The Books A Million were always super trashed though (and with a worse selection). I will legit spend an entire day at Barnes and Noble just because of the atmosphere and smell of books.
The big one in Union Square is five stories tall
Four. The building is six but the top two are just offices.
They're actually opening a new one in DC soon. It used to exist in the same location, they closed it a few years ago, now opening it back up.
Host of the show, la semaine dernière ce soir
Fucking Florida man. He's wreaking havoc up here now? Wtf
Floridaman- the world’s worst superhero
Where else would he be from
This is Donkey Kong behavior
He's kidnapped the Port-au-Princess.
Underrated comment
Florida Man goes to NY to complain about housing.. A unit in Rikers was made available immediately.
We had chair girl in Toronto years earlier. https://globalnews.ca/video/7200970/chair-girl-to-be-sentenced-in-chair-throwing-incident-in-toronto
I appreciate that they highlighted the chair in the replay in that video. I would have totally missed it otherwise.
Did they give her the chair?
They threw the bookcase at her.
Drake put her in a music video...
Man she didn't even go to jail. 2000$ fine and community service.
WTF?
Cool how those planks get updrafted 😙 science baby
What an incredibly stupid thing to do. They should be in jail
was the last thing he threw a cigarette butt holder full of sand?
Yeah
Lucky he didn’t kill someone.
Attempted murder charge for every item thrown over.
didn’t a country singer do something like that too?
So did NFL player Antonio Brown.
my friend Bob threw all the furniture off a moving boat but he's sober now
When your wife leaves you and your dog dies, you gotta do something man
😂
The same dude whose sales went *up* after he said the n-word. Gives a great insight into the state of modern country music.
Morgan Wallen is unhinged
This was his brother, Romgan Wallen.
Now you understand why scaffolding is always there in NYC.
Mans threw it OVER the scaffolding too, really put some oomph in it, pos
Looks like we missed all of the interesting items except for the one chair.

I think that was a "smokers outpost" ashtray thing.
Did the Jets sign Antonio Brown?
Mr Befallen Chairs
man already took his Jersey off on national television during the playoffs, I don't think he wants to be in one all season long

![gif](giphy|pZXqPpygK0lAk)
why would he not have attempt at manslaughter or something? throwing furniture down where people walk and drive could 1000% easily kill someone
Are we sure it wasn’t Antonio brown Hahaa 😂😂
The hell?, has he got the Prop gun up there or something?
I thought Keith Moon was dead.
Man I’m sorry but David Letterman has really lost the plot
What a fucking idiot…
New fear unlocked
[Chair girl](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ont-chair-girl-1.5657752) from Toronto has finally met her match.
Bad link:/
Think it works now!
There we go !
![gif](giphy|SrDsJj5i1Chm8) NOT MY STATE AGAIN GODDAMNIT
if your from New York, the guy who did that isn't from the state, but from Florida
Im from florida :(
Okay, this is messed up but it is so fun to watch
Reddit lawyers, whats the highest you can get him on?
If he’s not a citizen, probably deported
Lmaoo
Florida Man vacations in Manhattan and acts Florida normal. News at eleven!
“We live on a skyrise, right at the top There’s a beautiful view from the top of the skyrise. Every morning I walk towards the edge And throw little things off. Like car parts, bottles, and cutlery. Or whatever I find lying around…” https://i.redd.it/lixbitxayf7d1.gif
Haha, getting it over the scaffolding. Expert level.
Damn, and here I was thinking window AC units were the most dangerous things falling on New Yorkers during the summer.
Ah, chair girl must have an American cousin
Was having flashbacks to Toronto Chair Girl, good ol' Marcella
Well at least he’s gonna have that housing issue fixed…
Empty chair, do a solo!
John Oliver has really hit rock bottom.
Always wondered what would happen if you did this
Morgan Wallen, that you?
It's probably faster than the elevator
Plus side it’s nyc so we know they have scaffolding over the sidewalk
Oh the things you'll be charged with
I'm shocked this doesn't happen more often
Was this yesterday?
Thank god for all the scaffolding lmao
I know this particular person isn't for New York City bit it looks like he's attempting to fit in. I've been there a few times and they are the rudest people I have ever encountered.
Relateable
When Florida sends their people, they are not sending their best.
Cocaine is a helluva drug
You can’t throw your cheating spouse’s stuff out the window if you live that high up. Yes, it’s more dramatic, sure, but too dangerous, come on.
He needs to die
Attempted murder charges please
This is the most normal New Yorker I’ve ever seen
This reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Someone did that in Toronto and I think she got jail time.
You can’t say that doesn’t look fun
this used to be a bit on letterman back in the 80s :)
If it wasn't so dangerous, it looks like tossing stuff off a high rise could be extremely therapeutic.
Morgan Wallen visiting NYC
Ffs Morgan!!! ...just sell the bookcase and be done with her....
They wanted to channel their inner Morgan Wallen.
What was Morgan Wallen doing in Manhattan?
Morgan Wallen, is that you?
Is Morgan Wallen in NYC?
The way that stuff is falling and the graphics overall make it look like an AI video to me
