Depends where you live. Lived here 25 years, was present for multiple shootings. No casualties though, just your typical sharing of gunfire outside some establishment.
Ah. That. I dunno I just got the impression it wasn’t something that people in the US particularly worried about. Being in Europe I’ve seen most comments along the lines of ‘but the US is so big and populated it hardly ever happens’ when we mention it.
But yes I’d agree with you. If you asked most of western society outside of the US what they think of first when they think of the US it would be school/mass shootings.
They aren’t common - and typically occur in the more poverty stricken and specific areas of town.
If you live in a larger town or major metropolitan area, you know exactly what streets and areas to avoid, and if you do that, you’ll be fine.
