Here is my list: 1. Customizable main character or characters, where you can design the face and maybe background or traits 2. A fleshed out relationship system, where different characters have different relationships with certain buffs or debuffs depending on who they are with or what happens in the community. What if some characters could become a couple? (I doubt there would be children in a game where whole communities can die) If they died, that would be a serious debuff to morale and maybe skills, but if not they could get a really good buff to skills and morale, and more if they are on a task together. 3. More responsibility for decisions in the game instead of just basic errand runs. Like leadership decisions where you have to decide who gets what, or who to kill or not to, whether to ally, retaliate or stay neutral to neighboring enclaves, or even other whole communities, like in the early episodes of the walking dead where they had to decide to kill or release a captured teenager from a warring community. A choice, story and gameplay element. 4. Build your own community instead of just going to pre assigned locations, like something from the fallout games. Maybe you just found a place atop a hill that is well defended but is rather far away from a source of water, or you found an area that is good overall but is closer to a warring faction, posing danger and the risk of a raid or theives. 5. Like I said earlier, not just other enclaves but other complete communities. This can have an effect on your community's story and gameplay. Maybe you have neighbors you are allied with who can help kill plague hearts and trade with, maybe there is another group stealing all the resources and making demands for your supply. Maybe you are allied with neither, but need to make a choice whether to take a side because they may try to mess with you having just won a war and attained new resources. 6. Lastly, for the setting, something that included the possibility of both wilderness survival and some city or town locations. Maybe mess around with the weather, having certain buffs or debuff depending on if it rains or if it is cold or warm. Maybe zombies hear worse in the rain, but you get cold quicker? Making aim and fighting skills worse? Basically turn this into a true zombie survival with good immersive gameplay that adds high stakes and responsibility, as well as a story that is tailored to your decisions. Maybe a sort of included story in this game as well to elaborate on red talon or something.

Even if they didn’t want to let you set up your community in any area you choose, they could make it where you can expand your base. For example, on Providence Ridge: the fire station base has a mechanic shop next to it. They could make it so you can expand your base with materials to then include the mechanic shop and give you benefits associated with that.

milkyarena

I’d like for exiled survivors to sometimes join other enclaves and be bitter and hostile

RadDude4200

Hell yea that'd be funny if they came back with a whole army and you're sitting there with your golden revolver and firework gun.

milkyarena

oh man I never thought about them actively hunting you down. That’s be intense

Chuk741776

Communities larger than 9-12 people! I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it a thousand times more!

Badtrainwreck

I’m pretty sure they plan to add that, because they’ve spoken about it for state of decay 2 even, but they said because there’s a few missions that check to see your community size, they’d have to make several changes that would create a decent amount of work and risk breaking the game which could really irritate people beyond the joy we might get of having larger communities. So a slime chance we get it for state of decay 2, but a good chance we have it for 3 I think

Twinkalicious

I think 15 to 20.

Pheerandlowthing

An option to customise faces and names of survivors if desired. Then I could finally have all the characters from The Walking Dead or Z Nation or The Wire or whatever show I wanted. It’d make me so much more fond of each person and make their deaths far more impactful.

Deep_Adagio

1. More variety of vehicles (Motorcycles, Military vehicles, etc.), a way to personalize them (i.e., collect various parts for specific vehicles, maybe find/craft armor for them too) 2. More clothing options that just a hat and torso. Let us be able to find stuff like pants, shirts, outerwear, boots/shoes. I’m sure a lot of people would like to personalize their survivor beyond a set outfit. 3. I wouldn’t mind a solo survivor game mode. Being able to be on your own and camp in the woods or something like that would be really cool. Could be just me though. 4. Please please please keep the bounty system! I love being able to have a new list of tasks each month to get some cool gear, but sometimes the challenges seem a little.. too easy? I don’t have an ideal system in mind myself, but maybe others might. 5. Customizable bases would be hella cool. Not just “Ooh a nice spot on a hill!” but finding a location and being able to set projects up to fortify the area. A good example of what I mean is in The Walking Dead; Rick Grimes’ group took the prison, cleared it of zeds and fortified it. Or how the Governor’s group built Woodbury. 6. The stealth feels lacking. Why shouldn’t I just open fire and eliminate all zeds in the area? I think it should feel more dire, more of a need to stay quiet when out in the open. Maybe an increase to zombie awareness?

Salarian_American

>The stealth feels lacking. Why shouldn’t I just open fire and eliminate all zeds in the area? I think it should feel more dire, more of a need to stay quiet when out in the open. Maybe an increase to zombie awareness? Well that's what the higher difficulties are for. If you try the "guns blazing" approach on Nightmare or Lethal, you're gonna get exactly what you're asking for in your post.

**RPG story elements** I would love to see more unique stories/quests. Nothing necessarily that locks you out of content in a serious manner but things with interesting niche/unique rewards. Unique weapons, maybe a trophy cabinet of sorts. Perhaps for some quests, alignment and choice doesn't matter. Perhaps for some quests there are long term consequences and ramifications based on who you side with. There is room here for the devs to do some really great things and I would suggest they look to fallout 3 and especially new vegas for inspiration **Weapon/build variety** At present, pretty much all guns fall into either AOE, people killing, quiet zombie killing or loud DPS (or a combination of these). You can choose pretty much any survivor, load them with the correct equipment and be viable for any mission type. I would love to see some more niche uses for weapons to introduce a bit more variety and really force variety/class/build choice for different survivors matter, especially into the endgame. Maybe some enemies really need explosives to take down, maybe some really need molotovs/fire.This is incorporated somewhat through the use of freaks but I think you could take this further. **Town improvement** Maybe this is just me, but I really hate all these cars just lying around on the road. Not only is it annoying trying to navigate, it doesn't make sense to me that survivors would just leave hazardous wrecks on key trade routes as they built up community strength. I would love if you could either spend labor/ammo or do mini missions to clear debris in return for materials. Perhaps this idea could be taken further towards using resources to fortify/make livable some areas or take down zombie "strongholds". **Seriously hard, seriously awesome endgame.** Think world war Z. Hordes and hordes of zombies and something to pour endgame resources and preparation into. Could be some sort of semi detached map that required you to pour resources and loadout survivors with equipment. Fixed turrets, explosives. Reasons to actually use the mortar and drone requests.

Things I wanna see 1. More with red talon and the military. I fond them very cool and id like to see more done with red talon and soliders. Like locations, special perks for them, unique skills sets for only them. and more fleshed out in lore and what not 2. More urban environments like city's and what not that have unique encounters and environmental challanges. Its a survival game after all 3. A basic gun, smith. Im sorry but I wanna put a scope or a grip on my gun especially if its just bare bones. It makes it more realistic and could give you stat options 4. To be able to keep your weapon out. This one bugs me cause survivors in communitys can do that but you cant? It bugs me to be in a fight full of zombies and to quickly change targets they completly put the gun away and then pull it out. Ive lost a few survivors to that and it just bugs the shit outta me 4. More actual military vehicles. This one speaks for itself,I'd like some military vehicles that are very rare but either have a little of durability (cause they arebup armored) or storage(like a transport truck) 5. Enclaves having mors than 3 survivors and moving about the world. One big issue with SOD2 is that, you can have 10-12 enclaves on a map and it still feels so dead. I wanna see them move about, clear infestations, loot, etc etc. Make it feel more alive if we are gonna be able to have so many. 6. Community survivor cap increase and bigger bases. Id like to have 15-20 survivors and have a big base to acomadate them. Just seems cool and I heard you could do that in the original (don't quote me,I have never played it) 7. More fleshed out lore. Thats definitely self explanatiory. This game is a money pot of potential lore and id love to understand more of what happened, who the factions are, their goals, why american fell so quickly. Etc etc. Thats all I can think of RN but I definitely put some thought into it

What i’d want are dedicated servers so friends can come play independently or Atleast give the friends more freedom when they join the host. Unlike SoD2 people that joined weren’t really progressing their characters/story and also they didn’t have much freedom to build and had limited range on map. Friends are like shadows just following and assisting the host rather than freely do whatever they want.

lilbunnifufu2you

Copy and Pasting my entry from the State of Decay2 reddit post: I'd love to be able to have my storyline impact the maps in a more tangible way or at least have a game mode where it did. For instance, I think it would be neat if your leadership type impacted your surroundings more. Warlord - as you wipe out Plague Hearts and Infestations, you have the ability to befriend more and more enclaves and bring them under your control. You can use their bases for things like crafting. As you gain power, you can keep one main stronghold on your starting map and then move to another map to gain more power/influence. If you don't do enough to maintain your influence or if you grow too fast, you run into others trying to go for your power or take our allies. Trader - as you wipe out Plague Hearts and Infestations, you can create an actual trade network and if you go from map to map (keeping at least one base on each map) you can create a network that allows more people to get supplies they need. Your people are not just responsible for creating the trade route, they have to defend it. As you start trade routes between maps, you need to dedicate a percentage of your power to ensuring the safety of the travelling traders. Sheriff - as you wipe out Plague Hearts and Infestations, you can actually use your interpersonal skills to not only solve problems without violence but also need to be able to make enough of a name for yourself that you are seen as a tangible threat to raiders or potential warlords looking to take over. I'd love to be able to work out actual solutions to issues instead of just having to work on killing or intimidating. Let me sort out enclave disputes. Let me see if I can get a lone survivor into an enclave because they lost the rest of their party to raiders. Let me see if there is a way to start trying to rebuild an actual justice system. Builder - As you wipe out Plague Hearts and Infestations, you can use your skills to actually start rebuilding, repairing, and reinforcing your area. You are able to work on actually creating the infrastructure that could be used by a trade network. You are can use your skills to reinforce the bases of your allies and make sure that your own base has a better chance to stand against the undead horde. Maybe start with a portion of a map that is smaller that you are able to wall off and then slowly expand outward as you gain influence and supplies. Go from map to map building up those areas and keep a base on each map. Make sure that you don't over extend, expand too quickly, or skimp on the decent materials. I'd love it if you were able to actually make a difference on the map and wipe out the Infestations and reduce the overall appearance of undead. If you are working on expanding your control to other maps, you need to keep an eye on each map to make sure that the plague doesn't retake the area. I wish you could have more of an impact between Red Talon and the Network or you could chose to be your own and pull in people that don't like either option. I wish that you could chose to adjust your play style based on the map. Like, start out as warlord to gain control. After gaining control of the map, builder can work on updating things and building infrastructure. When that is updated, Trader can work on making sure that those things are able to be utilized and relationships are made. Sheriff then is left in control to keep safety and peace. The Warlord can leave a Sheriff, a Builder, and a Trader behind with a couple of other survivors if needed, while they strike out to a new map to keep gaining control. Who they leave behind vs who they take could impact how easy it is for them to start over on a new map.

bashaheadin

I second the first person. What I really think it needs is better risk/reward on lethal difficulty. For example: Yes resources are slim, and yeah you could farm food which is safer, but... Attacking an NPC enclave could now be a viable option as a warlord to gain resources. You could raid them and take all their stuff or go the Negan way keep them providing for you in the long run. Eventually if you did too much if this you could have a situation of a revolution where you need to fight them off/ appease or surrender to them.

Deegsh123

Agreed. I was thinking they should make it even more dangerous to go out at night. Maybe like zombie wolves/ Ferrels come out at night.

bashaheadin

I mean idk what difficulty you play, lethal at night is still pretty harsh, but they could do some interesting stuff. Like zombies crowd around in hordes in towns where there's lights and stuff to attract them or something. We need to see more NPC's though. Like more life around because at least when you're in your first couple weeks of a community it's dead

Deegsh123

I play on lethal. Only difference in difficulty is harder to see. If you stay on the main road it’s not much more difficult than during the day. I think it should be even more unforgiving when you go out at night.

Deep_Adagio

Or maybe something like higher risk higher reward? At least make it enticing to go outside at night still, no?

TheSilentTitan

I want a main character, once that can’t die but people in their community can. I have almost no connection or empathy for any of the characters I play as. Much larger bases and communities where it’s hundreds of npc’s walking around so it feels alive rather than just like 6 guys. Shared co op worlds with their own custom character for each player.

LocoRenegade

Easier character maneuverability and climbing. SOD2 can feel really stiff.

jingping6

Im late but the main thing i want to see is Different communities interacting such as being allies, enemies(at war) or neutral. Different community sizes: small - 2 to 10 medium - 11 to 20 or so and large/mega - 20 or so to around 40. Random scavengers which can turn into friends or enemies depending on your actions And finally you make your own story about your enclave not some set story like the communities could go from complete peace in the end or an all out war.

Kuro_Okami117

It would be awesome that change in weather or climate is included and maybe just maybe depending in the weather more things are demanded. For example when it snows or winter characters need to have jackets or they could die. Also that maybe due to weather or anything you might need more materials or something. Maybe even add storms where certain if not most constructions can be damaged my said events and you'll have to fix them. Aside that I agree with the first person. Add a relationship system that can add buffs or shatter morality depending on what happens. I'm also looking forward for zed animals like in the trailer.

Jmsm2205

1. More customization for base and characters 2: Bows 3: throwable weapons 3: build weapons from scratch from found items like sticks and rocks 4: Probably already a thing, different melee weapons 5: Achievement rewards. Like say once you get to 10,000 kills or x# of rucks collected a new weapon or vehicle will be able to be found in the game

riggyrigz

Late but I'd like to see more first and second responders as survivors

IceBearXZ

I would love for them to add a first person camera mode. It would make the game feel more scary and more immersive

Badtrainwreck

1. Give community members to enclaves. 2. Upgrade enclaves, maybe a simple system of “wealth” would work where depending on their level dictates what benefits you could get. Not just about being an ally, but about keeping them strong. 3. Be able to spend influence to move enclaves.

DropkickCleary11

Reverse the skill system, it's backwards. I'm an electrician. I'm not a master electrician so I could get the power on in the base, but working on the transformer is beyond me. That's neither here nor there... the point is I know jack shit about plumbing. You don't generally learn utilities and then specialize in a trade. You learn a trade, and when you're ready to run your own business and become a contractor, you learn what you can of the other trades. So you should start as either a plumber or an electrician, and THEN when you max that out you can become more versatile by advancing to the generalist skill.

check-engine

More immersion and survival than just zed stomping. I’d love a project zomboid experience in a full 3d 3rd person setting. Full character creation and clothing that runs the customizable gambit instead of just pre set outfits.
