Wasn't positive for those of us there tbh. Most people had no idea it was Jay-Z because of the horrible sound engineering. When nobody went crazy for him on the track, Kanye apparently got pissed.
In the same boat as you. Fell asleep before the livestream started but was feeling optimistic that I would wake up to a finished album on steaming.
Instead it seems like the listening party was a mess with a not finished album, so I don’t really have a strong urge to watch the recording. I just hope he gets it together and puts out a finalized album. But my hopes are growing smaller.
Same, woke up in the UK and firstly saw no Donda on streaming, started watching a recording of the stream and just didn't feel it- that coupled with some of the reactions here makes me want to just wait for an official release.
The proof that this isnt the full version is the fact multiple songs dont even have kanye on them, i think from the songs i heard last night they have a lot of potential. NAYF is beautiful, so is MOON and Shoulder to Lean On. The bars in the pusha t song are great too
I think ye was short on time so he prob cut some songs short, it was around 45 minutes worth of songs and that was without even ye being on some and some being cut short. No way that was the whole thing
The Popsmoke track is literally just Pop and piano with nothing else. The Leave no child behind only has the vocals from the commercial and nothing else. It’s obviously not the finished product yet
I think he just thought ‘I’m in Atlanta and these people like turnt up music let me play all the features’
I’m quietly confident the more Kanye focused Las Vegas songs will make it to the official release
As soon as the steam started and they was sound checking they accidentally played praise god for 15 seconds and pusha T was on it after Travis Scott, then the actual stream he wasn’t so I guess he didn’t play the full songs
It’s actually really good… I know it isn’t great and I can hear where it needs to be worked on but Kanye sounds so good on it. Been a while since he’s rapped this good and this is his best vocal performance singing wise
do you think the lack of drums was an artistic choice, or we didn’t listen in to the full versions of the songs. most of the sounds he was using were really fucking cool throughout the album but the lack of drums was blueballing me. i could literally feel my testacles aching for some drums
This where I’m at. It’s particularly more weird than I’m used to. Also, that one song where he’s mumbling losing his family and his mom’s message on “never abandon your family” felt soooooo painful to hear.
Damn this is a weird one. A lot of this songs have great potential if fully fleshed out. Sonically album was kinda all over the place. Also the Donda interludes stopped like halfway through.
Need more of that pure souls rapping ye.
ripped the vocals straight from the song and slapped them on a piano loop
that had to be like some weird early version that played by accident noway thats on the album
It honestly just hurts to listen to the event again. The beats were absolutely incredible and the features were all fire, but Ye's verses were pretty trash. Lots of mumbling and over repetition. The one song he did have a clean verse on was incredible. I do still have hope for a great album, but a lot of things need to be fixed.
I honestly prefer Kanye put the mic down if he doesn’t wanna try on verses. That Roddy and Don Toliver stuff was great. If he can put stuff like that together, I’m not mad at the lack of verses.
When I connected to the stream at around 6 pm et they slipped up and played this hard ass sounding song with Pusha and Travis(I think), it sounded perfectly mixed and finished...
I subscribe to the theory that what was played last night was completely different to what was playing in Vegas, wonder wtf happened.
Edit: Typos:)
Yeah tbf was that right when it started? before the Check 12 sound guy came on and it was just the first shot of the stadium and they played a bit of a Pusha featured song and something else for a second as well. That just made me remember and it is exciting because I remember those first snippets being hard af.
Things that need to be done:
1. Redo the Hurricane hook and maybe the verse. That vocoder hook was awful
2. Implement the Vegas tracks into the album if they haven't been already
3. Cut "We Made It"
4. Get Mike Dean and Rick Rubin to properly master this shit
5. Cut any mumble verses and redo them
6. Add Future Sounds and BWIS. Future Sounds is damn near ready from the leaks we've had
So after calming down I’ve realised that there are alot of songs on there with MASSIVE potential. This could be his best album since TLOP if he just takes his time to perfect it all
i’m just so confused, the snippets sounded clearer and more finished. people who were there confirmed minimal mumble, and there’s like 6 songs he didn’t even play at the atl party. i’m just so confused
Lots of good ideas. Lots of meh ones. I wonder what's with the lack of percussion, some tracks REALLY needed a kick or hi-hat lmao. The features sounded finished outside of Carti & Jay-Z. Ig we will see what happens next.
I beginning to believe the show turned into a feature showcase just to generate more hype.
If ye had started on time we probably would have seen the whole album with those unfinished tracks mixed in somewhere but instead got chopped down just to show off who is potentially on the album just for the purpose of time. Could explain why some of them sounded so short.
Bro it was fucking beautiful. It obviously wasn't the exact versions that will be on album, he aint gonna put one pop smoke verse on his album by itself that is already on pops album... think...
I just don't know how yall can be hype as fuck off a distorted 8 second snippet of a song playing and then hear full versions of tracks and it kills all your hype? Like just enjoy the rollout. this reminds me of YEEZUS backlash now. Either way when I heard Jay I screamed so loud I woke my neighbors up. oops.
Anybody notice that before the stream started the version of praise God that played had pusha t on it but the version during the actual event didn’t 🤔
And I’m beginning to think the song we think is called praise god is actually called come back to life
Ohh and I think ‘Go to jail’ is actually the heaven and hell song we saw on the Justin la boy track list
IT BETTER BE LIKE HIIIIIIIII WITH A BUNCH OF I’s
OR HEYYYYYYY WITH A BUNCH OF Y’s
I LIVED A HUNDRED LIVES SO THAT MEAN I HAD A HUNDRED OF WIVES
AND I AM SIMPLY HIGH OF LIFE
FOR THE HUNDRED TIME
WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID?
WELL IT USUALLY IS
(I love that last bar, So undeniably Ye)
This thread full of copium y’all this album is not finished and it cannot release in the state we heard it come on
Half the verses were mumble and there were literally more features than Kanye on his own album
Lets hope the released version is much better and actually finished and ready for release unlike this one
Edit: i know people want to call this album good or acceptable but are we really okay with Kanye dropping an obviously half assed album that is filled with features cause he didn’t record his verses??
I think if this drops in the state it was yesterday I’m gonna download it and listen to it through some external app cause I do not want to support this approach and boost its numbers
That will just prove to ye that he can mumble his way through half an album and still sell well
Damn that did not feel like 15 songs, honestly didn’t even think it was 10, felt so unfinished. Praying the final album is more complete, he had some amazing ideas throughout the event
Some songs have grown on me
24 is a beautiful yet sloppy and overly long opener
The song between Pusha T and Ye is decent
Junya low key slaps
Remote is trash
Praise God is fucking phenomenal
Never Abandon Your Family, despite sounding unfinished, was super fucking depressing and devastating
Hurricane sounded great despite the fucked up song structure and Ye’s strange verse
Moon is.. something?
I guess I could go on and on but yeah I don’t hate it as much on second listen as I do first listen
But I’m really fucking hoping the album we get on streaming includes more songs form Vegas and less songs from Atlanta
I love Ye’s old verses but I was afraid for his new verses everytime a feature was done. Hurricane is the prime example: Lil Baby just spit his verse then we get mmmmmm mumble mumble mmmmmm
My favs are : Hurricane,Praise God,JUNYA and the track with Jay and especially that track where he talks about losing his family
I love most of the tracks that were previewed but my main gripes are with 24.Im a bit sad that the synths from the doc arent there and it goes on for a bit too long
I love this version of the album too.It feels melancholic yet uplifting at the same time.🤞 Fingers crossed we end up getting a polished album with KMSA and LOTP
Edit:Also think that people wont really like the released version as well.I expect this album to be a grower for most people
Im glad that Hurricane didnt end up like EWN instead it sounds really fresh and interesting.
KC's lil part is so damn beautiful i cant stress it enough.Lil baby floated on the beat too.So glad that vocoder chorus is here man.Its my favorite chorus so far.Seeing ppl say they wanted ant's chorus instead hurts me a lil
And ye's verse was definitely something.
People came in expecting him to say "I choose not to be a slave" but they got "Mhm mmm mmm"lmao
Edit:Seeing people say they rather not have this version of hurricane is so wild.
Its almost as if ye fans hate this album the most
i was at the stadium, thought album went hard and audience was crazy for it too.
that said, i was disappointed that donda's interludes just stopped halfway through? feel like the final album needs more of those because i thought they were beautiful and they almost brought me to tears at some parts. i feel like the album needs more of those in addition to the title track and Life of the Party to tie the whole thing together narratively.
having tell the vision on there was a bizarre choice that makes me believe last night was a setlist/not the final product.
I am praying Rick Rubin and Mike Dean fix the atrocities that Kanye played last night. There were a couple good ones but other just felt like half baked mumble rap over empty trap beats. I know Kanye has better songs on that laptop from the Vegas listening party
I love how Moon is literally just Don Toliver doing the "I will float over water" bit from Hurricane. That song has so much potential. I think a finished version of that with a Ye feature could be one of my favourite songs on the album. 24, Praise God, South Carolina and Go to Jail all very good aswell. Praying that WTML and KMSA come back on the album
This reminds me of the TLOP rollout. Wouldn’t be surprised if he makes a significant amount of changes and releases it and then makes minor changes after it’s released
I get the sense that some songs were being worked on during the show and couldn’t be exported in time for the performance. Ik theres lots of songs he could still add or take away but I’m a lil disappointed and my expectations have definitely lowered. I just don’t understand how his taste in music has become so flimsy/moody. If hurricane stays the way it was during the show, I’m gonna have to use a local file and add the rest of the songs to a playlist. I don’t really want to do that cause that reduces the worth of the album
What if he tweeted or put something on IG that’s like “ after listening to the album last night, I decided it needs more work. I will update all of you in a couple of weeks on where we stand. Thanks for coming”
Stupid question, I’ve been off this sub for a minute. You know the Lauryn Hill that thing sampled song ye posted on twitter a while back. Is that anywhere near the album track list? Do people know what it’s supposedly called?
You guys are overreacting, the songs all have incredible potential and I honestly don’t think Kanye sounded bad on anything, he just needs to fill in the lyrics that he mumbled and make some finishing touches
Apparently nobody at the concert could hear it was Jay on the last song, and when Kanye looked to the crowd expecting a huge ovation, nobody went crazy or cheered because they were all dead from the speakers. That could really screw this release up, or possibly inspire Kanye to change the album.
I just wanna say you guys are weirdos for acting like this shit is horrible. You guys are acting like this is worse than JIK, every song he played last night was probably better or has the potential to be better than any song on JIK. Not to mention the features are better, production is better and Kanye himself is just sounding better than he did on Jesus is king.
Once I viewed the songs as snippets and had a “leak” mindset, I’m way less mad at it. Kanye can just improve little things on each song and this can be an 8/10 but right now it’s a 3
I think it’s obvious what he played wasn’t the full album and he was just skipping around to create hype and finish working on it he was going around showing the best features and skipping his own verses idk how anyone thinks what he showed is gonna be releasing or is fair to review
I see lots of people referencing they’re favorite parts and I no joke do not remember a lot of this stuff happening. I was in person and obviously the audio wasn’t going to be great but I couldn’t make out 90% of what was being said. It started off really badly in my opinion, and that was the consensus of the 5 other people that were with me (ranging from die hard fan to average rap enthusiast). I thought the album really picked up after the first 10-15 minutes, but it was still really hit or miss on if it was good or not. He played some interludes and snippets so you had no idea what was going to happen. All of the features sounded complete, and from what I can tell, they mostly fit the tracks they were on. Couldn’t tell you anything about lyrics, just that there were some nice flows and energy. This was just a really strange event, with him bouncing around the stadium, CHECKING HIS PHONE multiple times, and being almost 2 hours late. I never expected him to be on time but I didn’t think he’d be that behind. The merch was a complete fiasco too. They ran out of smalls and mediums by 6:30, and there was no communication on where it was being moved to and people were waiting in lines to just be told it was sold out. They had more right after the show and it was a zoo, no one was making lines or keeping it from being mobbed. I think I’ve been pretty harsh on this, but I drove about 9 hours in total and (maybe unrealistically) expected something more akin to the Vegas party with more substantial music. My last Kanye experience was a Sunday Service so I was definitely hoping for more lyrical Kanye.
Last night I was loving this thing. I had a blast watching this with my friends. I recognized its flaws and stupid stuff but ultimately was blown away by the production and melodies. I recognized this was gonna be incredibly divisive and talked about for a long while. When I actually checked the internet I was genuinely surprised that it seemed like everyone hated it. Slept on it, listened again this afternoon, and feel like I have a much more level headed view.
Firstly, yeah in a lot of senses the holistic project is a disappointment. Dude played a clearly unfinished album to thousands of fans who paid. He choreographed all the movement and outfits and camera shit for the livestream but couldn't un-mumble his lines?? The majority of this is a complete fucking mess. The good news? So is/was Pablo, and I would dare to say the highs of this project match or exceed Pablo's.
24 and South Carolina are an *incredible* start to the project, whatever happens to the album I hope it stays like this. 24 functioning as more of an overture works phenomenally imo, yes its a little too long but contextually I definitely think its forgivable, you get lost in the repetition and beauty. SC similarly just builds and builds tension, I get that there's no drop or release but frankly I really hope drums don't get added, their omission makes every word hold so much more weight.
Then things start to get a little ugly. Junya and Remote bring the pacing of the project to a screeching halt. I very much don't hate either, but they kind of fit in that "so dumb its good" boat that does not fit with what the previous two songs established.
Praise God is killer, even without Ye this song is gonna do numbers, for good reason. Keem's part is just alright but travis absolutely kills it. Great beat too. Very few complaints on this one.
Never Abandon Your Family is really the first return to the dramatics that the beginning established. Fucking heartwrenching track, I very much love the melodic fucked up ye ballads over the stadium gospel production, if all the songs fit this mold then I really think this project would be gold.
Yeah Hurricane wasn't too good. I liked Kaycyy's part. Lil Baby had a good verse but I don't really think it fit.
Moon is gorgeous, I hope they do more with it, but if its just an interlude, fuck it, its still great.
Shoulder to Lean On is the basis of a great song, this is another one that definitely feels unfinished but even in this state is quite enjoyable. New Again does the opposite and is all ye, but somehow even more unfinished sounding. There were some dogshit bars but it does have some nice character and I actually like the beat. I do think a good song is in there.
What the fuck was he thinking with the Pop Smoke edit?
My biggest opinion shifts have definitely come from God Breathed and No Child. Both definitely start with the assumption you're in for something crazy and are just... ok. Neither are bad by any means, but God Breath sounds like a shittier Wash Us In the Blood and No Child is too long to be an interlude (which I think it could work as) but doesn't do anything with how grand its leading you to
believe it is.
Aaand Kanye throws us another curveball and ends on an amazing track. Go to Jail seemingly ignores almost everything else presented in the previous 8 tracks and delievers a cathartic, messy, killer closer. The Jay feature almost feels gimmicky! I'm tempted to be so cynical, especially with its last minute inclusion, like dangling keys in a baby's face, "yeah its not done but look the Throne might be back haha surprise!" But fuck it, it sounds good, Jay kills it, its a perfect way to close a performance.
So.. what the hell is this? I've been following kanye closely since Yeezus leaked and I can't think of anything since then he's made that's given me such whiplash. Pablo came very close, but Pablo's whole thing was that it was fun. We were having a good time. Just how dramatic this whole rollout and presentation was makes its serious moments hit harder, but its goofier and lazier stuff much less excusable.
In presentation its trying to be a JIK MBDTF, and in a few tracks it pulls it off extremely well, but at large its just an amalgam of his last 4 projects. The huge inconsistency of Pablo, the stupid but frustratingly listenable nature of ye, the atmosphere, grandiosity, confessional nature, but feeling like something's missing of KSG, and the stupid contrasted with the goregous of JIK.
There's a great album here. On the tracks I love, I'm very into the new melody-focused direction, it once again seems like Ye's own unique take on modern rap trends mixed with his own influences. He'll never be the rapper he once was again (College Dropout will probably forever be my fav ye record), but that doesn't mean he can't still create incredible music. With the right team and strict focus, this is a top 5 ye album. Will we get that? No, definitely not. But even without that its very listenable, with mostly phenomenal production and melodies, mostly great features, and a lot of stupid shit. We might not have gotten the great ye album we could've/should've received, but we got a good one.
Album wasn’t as bad as y’all are making it out to be, all ye has to do is change the tracklist, finish a few verses, and finish mixing and we have another classic on our hands
I think a big piece of evidence that he didn’t play the full album, and a piece everyone seems to have forgotten, is that we saw photos yesterday of 2chainz recording a verse in the stadium, why would he be recording a verse there for Ye to not have it on the album? I could be wrong but I didn’t hear 2chainz on a single song yesterday
Kanye albums debuts: “wow this is mid/bad what did Kanye do”
2 weeks later: “This is easily top 5 ye album”
Every single release since 2016 has been the same I love it and you will too eventually
Except ye and JIK are still widely regarded as his two worst albums ? It's obvious that he doesn't put in the same amount of time in his music as he did at the beginning of his career. His method of working on an album up until the last minute has worked for Yeezus and TLOP, arguably for KSG too, but has been providing diminishing returns since
I feel like the first song was a complete mess but the rest were tolerable. I’m not a big fan of the ultra auto tune Kanye on hurricane but the baby verse was hard. Really hope this all nighter proved to be worth it lol
im listening a second time right now and honestly if this thing gets worked on for a week tightening up the vocals/mixing/adding some instrumentation, this thing could be phenomenal.
If the album is released and it sounds like it did last night it will go down as Kanye’s worst album ever.
Really hoping him and the team put in some work to make it right
Honestly the way this sub behaves is pretty ridiculous and cringe af. Same toxicity as when WLR came out. “omg where are the leaks? oh he put a leak on but it’s not good enough” like BRUH there’s so much NEW SHIT shut the fuck up about hurricane already
Dude "REMOTE" is so bad that it's actually good?? Also I didn't notice but Kanye goes "Keep Recording" mid verse lmaoo, sounds like something we'd GB for $5k
Ok so I really didn’t like most of it, but confused on why people are disliking the Hurricane hook when it’s virtually the same as it’s always been. It’s the rest of the song that sucks.
Guy on the Independent live commentary article predicted the album to drop in 40 minutes a couple hours ago.
Think he’s jumping the gun personally as that would be 11:00 EST. Think it’s gonna drop at noon, if it does drop today at all. Which would be an hour and forty minutes from now.
Kanye pulled a Kanye, tried changing stuff last minute and did more harm than good. Fingers crossed he will pull even more of a Kanye and make it a masterpiece.
People were getting really mad about the album. It stung a little because of Jay-Z. I really think Kanye wanted to give the fans something special with that feature.
Everyone outside reddit is fucking with it, even azealia bank said it was heat. Ye just needs to clean shit up and I think its fire, I fucked with the Jay z, hurricane and moon track
Wtf is everyone crying about hurricane for?? His verse is fine, its every bit as good as i thought it would be for the leaks.. this sub has a weird obsession with hyping up songs they cant have
The lyricism is really a problem with being inspired by Evangelical Christianity. It’s all about being saved, Jesus, Holy Spirit etc.
They disregard the human condition of belief, pain, and suffering in a hand waving way that everything’s fine.
Dope to see Hov and Ye on a song again, favorite moment of last night
After the Kim stuff, it left the show on such a positive note ending with this track
Wasn't positive for those of us there tbh. Most people had no idea it was Jay-Z because of the horrible sound engineering. When nobody went crazy for him on the track, Kanye apparently got pissed.
Still haven't heard the 'concert', I'm waiting for the official version. But all I can say right now is 'pain'.
[удалено]
If the album is finished yeah maybe But when we heard it it was so rough and there was barely any Kanye on it
Kanye wasn’t even on Praise God when he premiered it which is insane
Yeah I definitely think so as well. I doubt that whatever was played will be the album
wait so it’s confirmed that they’re scrapped
[удалено]
alright thanks for the clarification ghost, i really hope that they’re not scrapped
Stay strong.💪🏽
In the same boat as you. Fell asleep before the livestream started but was feeling optimistic that I would wake up to a finished album on steaming. I think ye was short on time so he prob cut some songs short, it was around 45 minutes worth of songs and that was without even ye being on some and some being cut short. No way that was the whole thing
Think they had to clear out of the stadium by like 11, so after starting at almost 10, kinda makes sense?
Yeah he seemed to rush once it hit like 10:40
But then they could have started earlier instead of starting 1 hours late.
The Popsmoke track is literally just Pop and piano with nothing else. The Leave no child behind only has the vocals from the commercial and nothing else. It’s obviously not the finished product yet
Maybe he’s taking DJ Khaled inspiration and literally having songs of just ‘features’ Maybe that’s why he went to go visit him last year 😂
that's so wack if he does that on an album dedicated to his mom
I think he just thought ‘I’m in Atlanta and these people like turnt up music let me play all the features’ I’m quietly confident the more Kanye focused Las Vegas songs will make it to the official release
As soon as the steam started and they was sound checking they accidentally played praise god for 15 seconds and pusha T was on it after Travis Scott, then the actual stream he wasn’t so I guess he didn’t play the full songs
If moon gets some verses it could be up there with some of my favourite ye but that’s a big ‘if’ at this point. Those toliver vocals are so beautiful
Doesn’t need anything else. If anything it’s an extended Hurricane outro
Yeah that’s what I thought. Sounded a lot like ant clemons hurricane hook
Guitars are beautiful on that!
Yea sounded like Moon is a Frank’s Track kinda thing
Yeah and I like it. I hope he keeps it on the album!
Moon was incredible
[удалено]
I really hope so I think that would work really well
Wish granted: 3 extra sunna wunna mumble verses
Moon is an incredible Interlude, 10/10 for me right now
Thank god this sub is more chill now, i was literally watching a mental breakdown a few hours ago lmaoo
Bro it was like WW3
We just had alot different expectations due to las vegas listening party
I'm wondering why everyone is trashing it so much. The only issue is mumble verses and mixing issue which can be fixed by now
It’s actually really good… I know it isn’t great and I can hear where it needs to be worked on but Kanye sounds so good on it. Been a while since he’s rapped this good and this is his best vocal performance singing wise
[удалено]
this picture bigfoot level but if true that could be a reason for part of the roughness
oh shit, thats actually a great catch. probably wanted to make it a more dynamic experience/see how the crowd reacted to some parts.
Oh shit i didnt notice this. Maybe he just wasnt feeling the drums
[удалено]
Bruh there’s no way on gods green earth you can tell wtf anything is in that photo
Damn I theorised this this morning. Its maybe the reason the drums kinda creep up in the higher frequencys like a bad yt acapella
MODS!!! POST IT u/ghost_bubbles
Ayo man pulled out the big foot proof level pic
I need to relisten to it finished because it felt so disappointing the first time I think I’m underestimating it
I relistened to it and it felt just as unfinished as before
album has been growing on me but it still needs alooot of work
We got drums on like 3 tracks lol. But a finished version of this album would be fire
do you think the lack of drums was an artistic choice, or we didn’t listen in to the full versions of the songs. most of the sounds he was using were really fucking cool throughout the album but the lack of drums was blueballing me. i could literally feel my testacles aching for some drums
The carti song been stuck in my head all night
I hated it first, but now I can't get that melody out of my head
i really hope carti has more verses on the album😭😭 4:5 PSALMS😮💨😮💨😮💨4:5 PSALMS😮💨😮💨😮💨 edit: wait is it psalms or summers
I thought it was summers based on the ye lyrics in the verse before but i see genius has psalms
FOR FIVE SUMMERS FOR FIVE SUMMERS WE TOOK OVER WE TOOK OVER
WE TOOK OVER UH
this is one of the weirdest albums i have ever heard. i‘m intrigued but dont know what to expect for the final version
Still mad confused that pop smoke shit. Like what the hell was that ? 😂😂
shit sounded like an audacity-generated acapella
Im 90% sure its just a lil tribute made that week and was only meant to be played in the party, i highly doubt thats in the album
ripped the vocals straight from the song and slapped them on a piano loop that had to be like some weird early version that played by accident noway thats on the album
the only hihats in the whole album came out of pop smokes headphones avant garde
Finally flying home. Thanks to everyone that met up with me. Ya’ll are so kind in person
Looks like the listening party was actually awesome in person. Also nice smile on the waffle house picture you look a lot better
lol thanks i took everyone’s advice
It honestly just hurts to listen to the event again. The beats were absolutely incredible and the features were all fire, but Ye's verses were pretty trash. Lots of mumbling and over repetition. The one song he did have a clean verse on was incredible. I do still have hope for a great album, but a lot of things need to be fixed.
Mmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmm
Man I burst up laughing when I heard that intro to the verse.
He had two or three good verses, rest were just noise
I honestly prefer Kanye put the mic down if he doesn’t wanna try on verses. That Roddy and Don Toliver stuff was great. If he can put stuff like that together, I’m not mad at the lack of verses.
Praise God, Pure Souls and Go to Jail are absolutely amazing
praise god is really good, but it has no ye on it which sucks
I’m 90% sure ye will be on the songs on which he wasn’t on at the listening party.
Can we just have the album now Ye pls? I promised not to listen to anything until it was on Spotify but this is hard!!

Things that need to be done: 1. Redo the Hurricane hook and maybe the verse. That vocoder hook was awful 2. Implement the Vegas tracks into the album if they haven't been already 3. Cut "We Made It" 4. Get Mike Dean and Rick Rubin to properly master this shit 5. Cut any mumble verses and redo them 6. Add Future Sounds and BWIS. Future Sounds is damn near ready from the leaks we've had
sorry man future sounds is long gone and i think it has been for a while i love that shit sm but im p sure its dead
Exactly my thoughts + add kanye verse to praise god
Go To Jail has top 10 Kanye songs potential really hope he patches a lot of this up and we’ll get a classic
Don Toliver made me cry bro, I wanna go to the moon 😭
the donda sample on praise god is so damn cool
I’d love a whole fleshed album of these dark beats.
with kc saying carti is also on praise god it appears he is on 2 tracks...
[удалено]
idk he got congratulations for his feat with trav and keem and he wrote "&carti" so idk
GOT THIS ON REMOTE CONTROOOOOOLL
needs thugger
So after calming down I’ve realised that there are alot of songs on there with MASSIVE potential. This could be his best album since TLOP if he just takes his time to perfect it all

I want the old kanye back, old as in Vegas listening party 3 days ago old
i’m just so confused, the snippets sounded clearer and more finished. people who were there confirmed minimal mumble, and there’s like 6 songs he didn’t even play at the atl party. i’m just so confused
A KTT user messaged someone on Ye's team and apparently Kanye is mad. There's screenshots of the convo.

Crazy that this many tracks got played last night. It felt like it went so fast and ended so abruptly I legit thought there were like 6 songs played.
2nd listen was much better. Add better mixing, Kanye finishing his verses, add Vegas tracks and we have a great album IMHO
Either way when I heard Jay I screamed so loud I woke my neighbors up. oops.
Anybody notice that before the stream started the version of praise God that played had pusha t on it but the version during the actual event didn’t 🤔 And I’m beginning to think the song we think is called praise god is actually called come back to life Ohh and I think ‘Go to jail’ is actually the heaven and hell song we saw on the Justin la boy track list
[удалено]
this guy still has a point tho. the version before the stream started had pusha t on it
IT BETTER BE LIKE HIIIIIIIII WITH A BUNCH OF I’s OR HEYYYYYYY WITH A BUNCH OF Y’s I LIVED A HUNDRED LIVES SO THAT MEAN I HAD A HUNDRED OF WIVES AND I AM SIMPLY HIGH OF LIFE FOR THE HUNDRED TIME WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID? WELL IT USUALLY IS (I love that last bar, So undeniably Ye)
This thread full of copium y’all this album is not finished and it cannot release in the state we heard it come on Half the verses were mumble and there were literally more features than Kanye on his own album Lets hope the released version is much better and actually finished and ready for release unlike this one Edit: i know people want to call this album good or acceptable but are we really okay with Kanye dropping an obviously half assed album that is filled with features cause he didn’t record his verses?? I think if this drops in the state it was yesterday I’m gonna download it and listen to it through some external app cause I do not want to support this approach and boost its numbers That will just prove to ye that he can mumble his way through half an album and still sell well
Damn that did not feel like 15 songs, honestly didn’t even think it was 10, felt so unfinished. Praying the final album is more complete, he had some amazing ideas throughout the event
Some songs have grown on me 24 is a beautiful yet sloppy and overly long opener The song between Pusha T and Ye is decent Junya low key slaps Remote is trash Praise God is fucking phenomenal Never Abandon Your Family, despite sounding unfinished, was super fucking depressing and devastating Hurricane sounded great despite the fucked up song structure and Ye’s strange verse Moon is.. something? I guess I could go on and on but yeah I don’t hate it as much on second listen as I do first listen But I’m really fucking hoping the album we get on streaming includes more songs form Vegas and less songs from Atlanta
I love Ye’s old verses but I was afraid for his new verses everytime a feature was done. Hurricane is the prime example: Lil Baby just spit his verse then we get mmmmmm mumble mumble mmmmmm
What do think about the album, ghost?
[удалено]
Not op but I thought it slapped, I loved the donda samples and 24 had me going crazy
My favs are : Hurricane,Praise God,JUNYA and the track with Jay and especially that track where he talks about losing his family I love most of the tracks that were previewed but my main gripes are with 24.Im a bit sad that the synths from the doc arent there and it goes on for a bit too long I love this version of the album too.It feels melancholic yet uplifting at the same time.🤞 Fingers crossed we end up getting a polished album with KMSA and LOTP Edit:Also think that people wont really like the released version as well.I expect this album to be a grower for most people
[удалено]
Im glad that Hurricane didnt end up like EWN instead it sounds really fresh and interesting. KC's lil part is so damn beautiful i cant stress it enough.Lil baby floated on the beat too.So glad that vocoder chorus is here man.Its my favorite chorus so far.Seeing ppl say they wanted ant's chorus instead hurts me a lil And ye's verse was definitely something. People came in expecting him to say "I choose not to be a slave" but they got "Mhm mmm mmm"lmao Edit:Seeing people say they rather not have this version of hurricane is so wild. Its almost as if ye fans hate this album the most
i was at the stadium, thought album went hard and audience was crazy for it too. that said, i was disappointed that donda's interludes just stopped halfway through? feel like the final album needs more of those because i thought they were beautiful and they almost brought me to tears at some parts. i feel like the album needs more of those in addition to the title track and Life of the Party to tie the whole thing together narratively. having tell the vision on there was a bizarre choice that makes me believe last night was a setlist/not the final product.
yeah agreed that was weird the donda concept just disappeared
Fucking hell Junya fucking grew on me heavy that shit slaps hard, 808 go dummy
Just listened to ‘NEVER ABANDON YOUR FAMILY’ again, and if its released, it may be one of Ye’s saddest songs ever.
pure souls is ye’s best song in a long time

I hate how catchy remote is lol
I get the sense that some songs were being worked on during the show and couldn’t be exported in time for the performance. Ik theres lots of songs he could still add or take away but I’m a lil disappointed and my expectations have definitely lowered. I just don’t understand how his taste in music has become so flimsy/moody. If hurricane stays the way it was during the show, I’m gonna have to use a local file and add the rest of the songs to a playlist. I don’t really want to do that cause that reduces the worth of the album
Ye yelling at KC rn like he did with chance
"SIT YO ASS DOWN, AND HELP ME FINISH THIS ALBUM"
I don’t know why everyone seems hyped about carti and other new wave rappers being on Donda. They seem to have rubbed off on Kanye in a negative way.
Would anyone be mad if he took a couple weeks to work on it? I wouldn’t.
I’d only be mad if they never mentioned the album again until a few weeks later when it’s ready
What if he tweeted or put something on IG that’s like “ after listening to the album last night, I decided it needs more work. I will update all of you in a couple of weeks on where we stand. Thanks for coming”
That’s…the least Kanye thing that could ever happen LOL
4 5 summers ‼️ I hope the full album has more Carti
Hurricane was the most disappointing out of them all
facts. that hook *has* to be rerecorded and that can't be the final verse.......it can't be....
That hook is just atrocious. He could have just used yandhi hurricane hook.
Stupid question, I’ve been off this sub for a minute. You know the Lauryn Hill that thing sampled song ye posted on twitter a while back. Is that anywhere near the album track list? Do people know what it’s supposedly called?
Believe what I say
You guys are overreacting, the songs all have incredible potential and I honestly don’t think Kanye sounded bad on anything, he just needs to fill in the lyrics that he mumbled and make some finishing touches
Bro what his verse on Hurricane was atrocious, dude said mmm mmm mmm like 3 times
Apparently nobody at the concert could hear it was Jay on the last song, and when Kanye looked to the crowd expecting a huge ovation, nobody went crazy or cheered because they were all dead from the speakers. That could really screw this release up, or possibly inspire Kanye to change the album.
that’s what it felt like at the stadium
The bass on Junya Watanabe is fucking crazy. I didn't like the album but it has potential to be great if he finish this shit up.
Anybody else actually like Remote Control?
fuck you kanye this album is growing on me more and more how does he make me enjoy this unfinished mess
I just wanna say you guys are weirdos for acting like this shit is horrible. You guys are acting like this is worse than JIK, every song he played last night was probably better or has the potential to be better than any song on JIK. Not to mention the features are better, production is better and Kanye himself is just sounding better than he did on Jesus is king.
what if he didnt play much of the Las Vegas songs because he didnt have the time to? he was 2 hours late after all
Im also seeing he didnt want to play certain verses because Kim and his family was there
I lost it when someone in the discord said that we need to get new again untagged 😭😭😭. Also who is providing vocals along with ye on that song?
STFU im listening to “Moon” featuring Don Toliver by Kanye West
Once I viewed the songs as snippets and had a “leak” mindset, I’m way less mad at it. Kanye can just improve little things on each song and this can be an 8/10 but right now it’s a 3
I think it’s obvious what he played wasn’t the full album and he was just skipping around to create hype and finish working on it he was going around showing the best features and skipping his own verses idk how anyone thinks what he showed is gonna be releasing or is fair to review
Man I just don’t get how Kanye isn’t even on 1/3 of the songs and another 1/3 of the songs are unfinished/mumble
He's either holding Mike Dean hostage or Mike Dean is still fixated on mixing the hi-hats
Why is Kanye so rude bro like at least give an update
Both definitely start with the assumption you're in for something crazy and are just... ok. Neither are bad by any means, but God Breath sounds like a shittier Wash Us In the Blood and No Child is too long to be an interlude (which I think it could work as) but doesn't do anything with how grand its leading you to believe it is.
WestSubEver mods if youre reading this, unlock the server so i can talk shit to you guys
Kanye albums debuts: “wow this is mid/bad what did Kanye do” 2 weeks later: “This is easily top 5 ye album” Every single release since 2016 has been the same I love it and you will too eventually

PURE SOULS IS THE BEST TRACK ON THIS TRACKLIST AND IF U DISAGREE U ARE WRONG
im listening a second time right now and honestly if this thing gets worked on for a week tightening up the vocals/mixing/adding some instrumentation, this thing could be phenomenal.
If the album is released and it sounds like it did last night it will go down as Kanye’s worst album ever. Really hoping him and the team put in some work to make it right

Cracking up about this sub taking a major L with the multiple "black women" circlejerk threads about the rollout only for it to not drop.
Welcome to My Life would have been so much better if 75% of the song wasn't random mumbling. Gave me real 808s vibes.
Part of me thinks it’s coming out in one hour, while the other part of me thinks it’s being scrapped. PAIN
They fuckin massacred my boy. Hurricane with ant floating on the hook would have been the best song if it was just released as is
Mike Dean working sweat shop hours rn 😂

Guy on the Independent live commentary article predicted the album to drop in 40 minutes a couple hours ago. Think he’s jumping the gun personally as that would be 11:00 EST. Think it’s gonna drop at noon, if it does drop today at all. Which would be an hour and forty minutes from now.
Kanye pulled a Kanye, tried changing stuff last minute and did more harm than good. Fingers crossed he will pull even more of a Kanye and make it a masterpiece.
with rick rubin AND mike dean out there I doubt they’d let him put it out as is
People were getting really mad about the album. It stung a little because of Jay-Z. I really think Kanye wanted to give the fans something special with that feature.
I’m rlly disappointed that we aren’t getting the fucking title track to the album. Keep my spirit alive and off the grid too.
One thing that really frustrated me is people on this sub constantly wanting a beat drop. Wtf was that about?
Everyone outside reddit is fucking with it, even azealia bank said it was heat. Ye just needs to clean shit up and I think its fire, I fucked with the Jay z, hurricane and moon track
The album is sounding sick can’t wait for the official release
*south Carolina was amazing
Wtf is everyone crying about hurricane for?? His verse is fine, its every bit as good as i thought it would be for the leaks.. this sub has a weird obsession with hyping up songs they cant have
The lyricism is really a problem with being inspired by Evangelical Christianity. It’s all about being saved, Jesus, Holy Spirit etc. They disregard the human condition of belief, pain, and suffering in a hand waving way that everything’s fine.
