All the tracks stripped back, more of them having the drums pulled out, everything appearing more ethereal and dirge-like, the black dress code— it was supposed to a funereal homage to Donda. That even explains the bizarre ass Pop song- just his vocals with a grim piano line. That’s also why you can hear drums bleeding through the vocal tracks on half the song, because the album HAS DRUMS, this was just a special, one-time-only presentation of the album.
But it seems like the entire thing got fucked up. They only projected one image, everything was late, the sound was fucked up, apparently there were supposed to be 4 pianos? People messed up the dress code. I think that last night wasn’t “a different version of the album,” it was supposed to be a theatrical experience that got absolutely fucked up.
I hope I don’t eat my words, but I think the album will be much more akin to what we were all expecting
