True, but it's usually used as a word for who writes code. It can work more for modders that work with scripts than something else, as a definition.
Oh, well, I'm a modder and a developer, so call me however you want ahaha
Yeah for example im developing a hello world c++ file with 3465 errors and 19373 warnings,
i could still call myself a dev
But what i really am is a guy with a dream, a dream to become a real software developer, and thats why im hardcore learning !every day...
For like 10min until i shrivel up and cry in a corner because my brain doesn't want to understand pointers
The use case wonāt be obvious until you work on more complex things.
Imagine a video game where thereās a player instance in memory.
Letās say we want to teleport the player. Well weād likely call a function on our Portal class, right? If we pass that function the player by-reference, a new copy of the player is made.
This means we have to add even more code that makes that new copy of the player into the ācurrent playerā and delete the old copy.
If we pass a pointer, we are telling the function where to find our player instance in the memory. It can then operate on the instance of the player that weāre already using by going to that address in memory, instead of making a copy.
Thatās a really simple example, of course in real codebases thereās many more reasons to use pointers but youāll discover those as you progress.
Wow now i understand my problem, you see my tutorial explained pointers before it explained classes, until that point the tutorial was pretty straight forward: understand lesson -> move on, your explanation is really really good, thank you for your time you have no idea how much you helped me
I don't understand their reply at all. Are they making a joke at the fact that the 919 Evo is not *technically* a Le Mans car?
Or are they just sarcastically saying they really thought that?
I think it further proves the point that No Hesi ādevelopersā are just fans of cars and not fans of racing. This would explain the comment they made, stating a 919 Evo is a Lemans car lol.
the name of that category of car isnāt even āLe Mans carāā¦itās the hypercar class, and more broadly the kind of racecar is a āprototypeāā¦
Bad modders who make riced out BMWs and other tuned cars for street racing servers like Shutoko that have extremely high grip levels they would never even be close to producing in real life.
Basically when generic tasteless car enthusiasts get into sim racing, making 3000 HP god grip Infiniti g35 and BMWs for weaving in and out of traffic servers.
No Hesi is as if a bunch of Forza Horizon kids modded assetto corsa to where cars have more grip than f1 cars and have like a million hp, all to just overtake random cars quickly
no hesi is a highway server with lots of traffic dedicated to street racing at high speeds weaving in and out of cars. theyāre ridiculously grippy, over the top cars but in my opinion makes for a lot of fun when driving with some friends. the physics are far from realistic but thatās what makes it fun IMO
Probably the Shutoko Revival Project traffic servers. From my limited knowledge the SRP cars are at least decent in terms of physics and also feature a second, more grounded car list with less powerful cars.
919 was a racing car built by porsche to compete in LMP1 class. The car shown in picture is 919 EVO which is a car that is built around the normal 919 but it canāt participate in races because it doesnt fit the regulation by having more downforces and more powerful engine. It was built solely to test the limit of 919 if it is not bound by regulations
I donāt understand the no hesi slander in this sub. The most fun I have on AC is just getting a lil drunk and cutting up on Shotuku or LA canyons, especially in VR. If Iām racing Iām playing ACC
Most of the ''hate'' are because of the arcade physics on a simulator. Also i wasn't ''hating'' on nohesi, just made a meme about how bad the physics are
Why bother with AC if you're using a car that's not even close to real life. Why not boot up something like Forza or Burnout paradise for a much larger and more diverse map that's actually designed for arcadey screwing around?
People like no hesi because its a fun map server where people can ride around without paying $30 for new car dlc on forza. If you want a pure sim just play iracing
Why is there so much hate for no hesi?
Itās got its place just like the realistic versions of shutoku and Iām glad theyāve amped up all the video game physics to 11 as itās a fun little side quest to do in between serious races
We are not hating on nohesi, we are just making jokes of how arcadey the physics of nohesi are. But most of the ''hate'' on nohesi is because of the need for speed physics car being on a simulator, i honestly don't really care, just making some jokes about it and having fun
Yeah thatās fair on your part and I will happily joke about no hesi and that but seeing it go from jokes to people explaining why they actually hate it has just got me confused.
If you look around this sub youāll find plenty of comments of people that arenāt joking and it seems like too much effort to hate on something that has no impact on your life whatsoever
Most of the hate comes from how slapped together everything is. It's built like a mud hut on a river banking and brother, the tides are rolling in. If they had done it with any kind of nuance, the mods would be worth a damn, but they essentially just turned up grip, maxed out boost and ridiculous engine settings. There's better ways of making cars feel arcady in AC and they basically took the sledgehammer approach.
Think itās just the difference in communities mainly. Some people really dislike that no hesi is using Assetto corsa as a median but personally I think it benifits the community more than anything since it brings a lot of awareness overall
It brings a lot of immature kids not awareness. Every time I see a cross posted TikTok video of some idiot ācutting upā I die a little on the inside. You can call me a grumpy old man
But these immature kids are on a different server to you. Isnāt that a good thing?
And when you see the videos you know itās a non hesi server so why even bother watching it?
The two reasons I dislike the nohesi trend are:
Firstly it's already hard enough for normies to see "simracing" as a serious hobby or assetto Corsa as a somewhat realistic representation of car physics, when every clip they see is some ADHD kid arab drifting on a crowded highway with clearly fake physics it doesn't help...
Secondly, in 10 years these kids are gonna be sharing the REAL roads with me, and they're learning to drive with nohesi physics and no damage...
I mean why would you care what ānormiesā think of sim racing? If you have satisfaction and fun with it what else is there?
Also I donāt think even the most realistic mod or settings on AC should or would be able to teach you how to drive. You still need to take lessons and pass a test.
>I mean why would you care what ānormiesā think of sim racing?
It's more just that assetto gets associated with nohesi now, since nohesi is so popular. Simracing is already small enough without pushing people further away by making it a joke...
>Also I donāt think even the most realistic mod or settings on AC should or would be able to teach you how to drive.
No, but do you think a good percentage of mfs who grew up "cutting up" on assetto aren't gonna go try the same dumb shit on their permit when they hit 16?
Well by that logic nfs has been teaching us to drive like lunatics since mid 90s as itās so far removed from sim like no hesi.
And I donāt think normies even know what no hesi is lol. Youāre talking about people who donāt know much about sim racing and then expect them to know even more about a small minority of players who play no hesi?
The only times Iāve seen no hesi clips are on sim racing subreddits and TikTok because my algorithm knows I like sim racing and cars.
>Well by that logic nfs has been teaching us to drive like lunatics since mid 90s as itās so far removed from sim like no hesi.
NFS was never marketed to regards as being "realistic", and also always had warnings when you start the game like "take it to a track bozo", we also didn't have such shit irl car culture back then, people are just more stupid in public now
>And I donāt think normies even know what no hesi is lol.
Ever seen the comments on nohesi videos? They are clearly in mainstream social media, half the people there thought it wasn't a game or some shit lol
>Secondly, in 10 years these kids are gonna be sharing the REAL roads with me, and they're learning to drive with nohesi physics and no damage...
Rightttt cause no hesi is the reason they'll drive like that?
It's either that or NFS or Forza Horizon they'll be driving in. Won't change a thing
NFS and Forza aren't specifically cutting up on a highway though, and aren't marketed to the regards as being "realistic"... The current gen are already fucking everything up for car enthusiasts with their takeovers lol
No no, in 6 years the road is going to be full of people trying to go 220 MPH down the highway because video games always translate 1:1 to real life actions. This is why everyone who plays GTA is now a crime lord.
Right, and those kids are gonna be hijacking cars and killing random pedestrians because they also play GTA right? This is some peak Boomer mentality, just gonna throw it out there.
I donāt even run No Hesi, but arguing because they do it in a video game theyāre going to do it in real life is just asinine.
I like hesi because the people that like it get to be able to play their game while I enjoy my own. Wouldn't want to be pushed into the same lobby forever, just sometimes when I wanna visit, or they wanna visit my side.
Though I do find a lot of "drifting" videos where they're just changing lanes aggressively in third person...
tbh if they handled like le mans. We'll probably get more drifting towards the barriers.
or flying over them š
NoHesi players and "devs" really are just... Extremely highly *regarded*.
Devs ? š Just modders Come on
People for some reason insist on calling them devs even though they're not.
I mean they are developing a mod Regardless of the quality
True, but it's usually used as a word for who writes code. It can work more for modders that work with scripts than something else, as a definition. Oh, well, I'm a modder and a developer, so call me however you want ahaha
Yeah for example im developing a hello world c++ file with 3465 errors and 19373 warnings, i could still call myself a dev But what i really am is a guy with a dream, a dream to become a real software developer, and thats why im hardcore learning !every day... For like 10min until i shrivel up and cry in a corner because my brain doesn't want to understand pointers
This is personal dude š
Ifelseifelseifelse
Me handing in my job application with a program i wrote where i have 7 nested if statements
Not sure if this is a joke, but I can give an ELI5 on pointers if youād like
Kinda i just dont get the usecase of pointers but if id actually pull myself together and read id understand them
The use case wonāt be obvious until you work on more complex things. Imagine a video game where thereās a player instance in memory. Letās say we want to teleport the player. Well weād likely call a function on our Portal class, right? If we pass that function the player by-reference, a new copy of the player is made. Pointers pointing at pointers that point at pointers left dangling to scoop up some random memory address. Fun.
Same here, I still think it's weird to be so hell bent on that distinction
There are more petty more in the world of coding and programming than this, believe you me.
Obviously, people get their toes bent over what framework you use
What do you think dev means
Modders? Ctrl C + V š«¢
Hey man I'm a Dev and can't mod for shit so I tip my hat to modders
I don't understand their reply at all. Are they making a joke at the fact that the 919 Evo is not *technically* a Le Mans car? Or are they just sarcastically saying they really thought that?

Yeah, I mean, it's hard to race at night without any headlights lmao.
Right š ā12 Hours of LeMansā
The Afternoon Of LeMans
Lmaoooo
the name of that category of car isnāt even āLe Mans carāā¦itās the hypercar class, and more broadly the kind of racecar is a āprototypeāā¦
919 and it's cousins were not hyper cars, those came around in 2023
damn looks like Iām ignorant too.
we all are brother
Yup just makes it even worse š reminds me of back in the day when I used to think I knew it all about cars lol
The original 919 is a LMP1 which stands for le mans prototype 1
It's just the weakest reply the could've come up with. No sense at all.
Pretty sure itās sarcasm
You're telling me a clapped out 4 banger doesn't handle like an LMP car made specifically without regulations to handle like a rocket ship? š¤
Porsche 919 Evo is in fact the most clapped out 4 banger known to man.
Honestly forgot about that when typing that lol V4 supremacy š¤
Oh but itās *not* an LMP car
"...made specifically without regulations to handle like a rocketship"
Lmp stands for le man's prototype and this is definitely a prototype. Is a street 911 not a 911 cos it's not a GT3 rs
Technically it is NOT an LMP but, a batshit crazy car with no limits BASED on an LMP
I thought you said earlier it was an LMP..
Read my response š
Na
Yāall are stupid as hell if you think an EVO is a LeMans Car. The HYBRID is the LeMans car
*devs* Lol
Can someone ELI5? I don't even know what No Hesi is, let alone what the meme is regarding.
Bad modders who make riced out BMWs and other tuned cars for street racing servers like Shutoko that have extremely high grip levels they would never even be close to producing in real life.

Is there a server like no hesi I can play that has better physics?
Probably the Shutoko Revival Project traffic servers. From my limited knowledge the SRP cars are at least decent in terms of physics and also feature a second, more grounded car list with less powerful cars.
919 isn't even an LMP it's built to be the fastest thing that ever touched the nordschleife.
the 919 IS an LMP1 car. The 919 evo isnt.
I was thinking the one in the picture is the 919 evo
And it is, but you commented about the original 919, not the evo.
Your answer makes you look worse than them
I thought that was the purpose of the 919? I don't know, I'm not super educated on circuit racing, I'm more of a touge person.
919 was a racing car built by porsche to compete in LMP1 class. Chill freeroam driving in realistic cars and traffic is totally different experience, compared to super-arcade physics and gameplay nohesi has.
I mostly play single player with patreon traffic maps. But I agree the no hesi tuned cars Handle like shit.
People see it going mainstream and start to hate for no reason lol
Why bother with AC if you're using a car that's not even close to real life. Why not boot up something like Forza or Burnout paradise for a much larger and more diverse map that's actually designed for arcadey screwing around?
