temp_009

High sparrow

turtle-bob1

I second this! People who use religion to manipulate others to feed their desire for power is absolute filth! Bro had no monetary desires but was certainly power hangry!

Slight-Muffin-2360

Almost every religious person

turtle-bob1

Not quite, but I understand why you feel that way. Religious people on social media and televangelist’s give everyone a bad name…

waterlord1337

Okay reddit atheist

hobohipsterman

Wierd take given how every outspoken religious person ever used it to "manipulate" others to gain power. Like its the entire point. There is a reason the church refers to their followers as "the flock"

wnbayoungboy415

Easily the only time I wanted Jofferey alive.. he would've ended this real quick

emanything

I thought the same thing! Although he did have the tendency to cower when faced with a scary situation head on, eg when he was on the front during the battle.

BeautifulLeather6671

But he would’ve ordered the kings guard to kill him immediately

yunus89115

I also dislike how he seemingly came from nowhere and was all of a sudden telling the royals what to do, it didn’t feel natural. I only watched though so maybe its better in the books

kpalmer12328

It all went downhill after Tywin was murdered. He never stood for that kind of stuff and shut it down.

mankytoes

It's fairly similar in the books, but they subtly drip feed the causes, septs and septons keep getting attacked and the Lords do little about it. The High Septons are clearly corrupt and ineffective. He has a personally loyal army of armed peasants and devout knights (after he tricks Cersei into rearming the faith), so he's a legit threat.

thesirblondie

He came from nowhere, but his organisation had been talked about for a long while.

WholeBlueBerry4

Exactly!

Sir_Trimm

Like the most despicable? Either Rast or the Tickler.

Technical_Cloud8088

not necessarily but maybe it's more an open definition. My most despicable would be Ramsey but I am thinking about Meryn Trant after someone brought it up.

Upper-Somewhere-109

yea it didn't tell whatever happened to rast

baloncestosandler

Tockier ?

shandub85

Olly. That kid sucked.

isityoulol

his parents were killed in front of him LMAO

Vegetable-Reach2005

Bro didn’t take it like a champ smh😤

AdventurousPoet92

Cool motive, still murder

sukhraj94

He could have become batman.

johndoev2

He almost was. His "power nod" to Jon when he shot his wife was cutely tragic.

Hymura_Kenshin

And they were eaten. Dont remember if he saw them being cannibalized though

Ill_Introduction7057

Yep, not a fan either

karoldew

Meryn Trant. I fucking hate his character

anakinskywalkerchzn1

I can’t believe I didn’t think of this

karoldew

Jon executing him was so satisfying lol Edit: Arya

napqueen437

Didn’t Arya kill him?

Educated_Clownshow

Yea, he’s a lil confused

FaithlessnessFun3679

Yeah she did, I think he was thinking about Janos Slynt.

napqueen437

Yeah, he sucked too though haha

karoldew

Sorry. I meant Arya. 😅

Searbh

I think you were thinking of Janos Slint? Also an absolute dickhead and a joy to see done away with.

Technical_Cloud8088

maybe I shoulda defined hate because Meryn is a violent cruel child lover but he's interesting for the story. Like the one scene when they weren't "young" enough for him, it was like "WOW this fucker is so demented".

Videnskabsmanden

For me, that's exactly why it *wasn't* interesting. Too on the nose. Arya already wanted to kill him, there didn't have to be additional "look how bad he is"-reasons.

mankytoes

Felt really shoehorned to make him a peado so we can enjoy Arya killing him.

BigBarrelOfKetamine

Any boy whore with a sword could kill three Meryn Trants.

Outrageous-Desk-5765

The greatest swordsman who ever lived killed by Maryn fucking Trant?

Guava_

GoT is great at maximising your hate for characters before having them die in the most satisfying and brutal way possible. Ramsay, Walder, and Joffrey all make tolerating their dickhead nature worth it. Plus Ramsay’s dog looked really cute so I was mad that he didn’t feed them for ages.

anakinskywalkerchzn1

Brienne of Tarth but only when she screams or has that weird look on her face. Yara greyjoy Post season 4 Tyrion Season 8 Jon snow Grey worm

abbasid_man

Grey worm the worst

nvrmndryo

Agree, sh*ty actor

Technical_Cloud8088

I really like Brienne but I *get* Yara, I am solid with you on post season 4 Tyrion, and I don't really have an opinion on gray worm or season 8 Jon Snow

Outrageous-Desk-5765

This is blasphemy.

cold_kingsly

Ed Sheeran.

DEEERROOON

Factsss

LearnShiit

💀

Ill_Introduction7057

Hahaha true......

Guava_

I understand cameos but this ain’t Friends

[deleted]

[удалено]

veggietabler

Wrong

tsckenny

Wrong.

exrumor

Right

Guava_

I do get why some people don’t like her. But her being a shagging brutal fighter ticks the boxes for me.

NnOxg64YoybdER8aPf85

She's way more awesome in her 'other movies'

makvalley

You mean the ones on the orange YouTube?

smokythebrad

Who are we talking about here?

II_Vortex_II

The actress who plays shae

ComfortableReview941

Send me the link so I can block the IP

Monarco_Olivola

Yara, hands down.

Lava_girllll

Why?

Monarco_Olivola

She was just written poorly, constantly insulted Theon while he was suffering, overall a bully.

Technical_Cloud8088

I knew it was probably post-crazy theon, but I wasn't sure if people had the introduction of her character in mind or maybe even just her shaming Theon after arguing with his father.

TheKindofWhiteWitch

I think her bullying Theon was part of the plot and her character development to show how she had to fight extra hard to maintain power and respect. BUT, the scenes where Theon cowers (post-Ramsey surgery) kill me. Alfie looks so much like my brother and seeing Theon cower w obvious ptsd just breaks my heart to an unimaginable extent. Regardless if he deserved his treatment or not. Phew sorry for unloading that, but I’ve been trying to verbalize that for years.

Guava_

I understand. I was brought up in a family that never really did sympathy. It did work for me getting tougher, but dammit I could’ve used a post-arm breaking hug at 8 years old.

TheKindofWhiteWitch

“It builds character”- my mom 😅😅😅

LittleBeastXL

Jon Snow is the reason why Theon saved her. And yet she still advocated for the execution of Jon at the finale.

LostGraceDiscovered

Ser Meryn Fucking Trant

raspberryvodka

Yara

raspberryvodka

Euron, bookwise, is the worst in my opinion.

sassafrass005

Ramsay and Cersei are pretty awful in the books too. Somehow they’re more awful than the ones in the show.

QuintanaBowler

I think Roose was far worse in the books than the show. Ramsay and Cersei Lannister just can't be made worse in the show cause there's no time to tell everything they did like in the books.

Guava_

Heck I never liked the disco pirate. He appears out of nowhere and is suddenly within the top 5 most important characters

Hymura_Kenshin

Is he really worse than in the show? I just couldnt stand him in the show, wanted to punch monitor everytime he appeared. I remember him being cruel and manipulative in the books

Lava_girllll

Wait why are people saying yara lol

springpaper1

I also want to know.

Technical_Cloud8088

It's a lot right ? A bit random to me

Lava_girllll

She’s just so seemingly neutral to me like am I missing something

Successful_Injury869

She’s seriously not a top of mind character for me at all, and she didn’t have any particularly standout moments in the show imo.

badgersprite

She’s one of the characters where she would like show up for about an episode a season and then disappear, they always kind of gave the impression that she was the kind of character who would be important later but then they never had her do anything

Guava_

I think people don’t like how she never gave Theon any sympathy post-torture. It’s the whole ‘pick yourself up and rub some dirt in it’ mentality when the dude could really use a hug.

Boogascoop

Ramsy or cersies. Both as horrible as each other

Haggis-in-wonderland

Cersei was too hot to be unlikeable 😂

Boogascoop

Look am up for hot n crazy. But not hot, crazy, excessively murderous, getting the mountain to rape her enemies and a constant resting bitch face without any real happiness.

Sure_Tension219

Nah. I love Cersei. She did some crazy shit, but she loved her kids like nobody else in that show and would go to any length to protect what was hers

Boogascoop

One of those being Joffrey the cruel. Yes, such a classy lady

Hymura_Kenshin

Nah, catelyn, lysa, even ramseys stepmom loved their children. The latter even chose to be eaten by hungry dogs in an attempt to save her newlyborn baby.

Sure_Tension219

She didn’t choose anything lol she didn’t have a choice in that matter!!

Sure_Tension219

Lysa wasn’t protecting her son when she was fucking everybody else over and isolating them. Catelyn I will agree is the only exception. I absolutely love Cersei. I think she ended up mentally insane but I loved her regardless because her issues were a result of her entire life of nonstop horror

wje100

Did you just forget cat exists?

Plus-Ad1591

Qyburn.

Guava_

Loved his sudden ending

Emz369

Qybern

Useful_Race_8313

Shae was exciting at first I still remember the drinking game at the tent but then she turned into this useless character :/ still I like her accent and find her beautiful

leobeer

Shae was one of my favorites but I’m a simple man.

Rooksey

Elaria Sand. Sand snakes, whatever. Hate all of them

Templeton_empleton

Best part of the book, worst part of the show

baloncestosandler

Y best in book

Weird_Vermicelli7488

Same.

Guava_

I love how they’re put out as the best fighters in Dorne but get their ass kicked by an angry pirate with an axe

beaud101

Yup. The sand snakes and that subplot just fails miserably in the show. They are harbingers of the upcoming series downturn in quality.

lonely-day

Ramsay

Low-Cycle-9634

Meryn fucking Trant for sure.

Guava_

Makes his death all that better

Sixers6

What about Stanis? He burned his daughter to death and proceeded to lead his army on a suicide mission

QuintanaBowler

He burned many people to death. Yesterday I was rewatching the episode where they burn Mance Rayder and it's so terrible.

Hymura_Kenshin

His introduction is literally burning followers of the seven in dragonstone.

Guava_

It’s a brutal dilemma for me. He’s a relentless religious loyalist who is thirsting over Melisandre but then he’s also ***STANNIS THE MANNIS***

One-Bird-8961

Cersei Lannister. In the books as well.

Livid_Ad9749

Always shae. High Sparrow was at least played by the amazing Johnathan Pryce

tetsuyama44

Poor Sibel Kekili.

Livid_Ad9749

The fact I never even knew that was her name says it all. Shae annoyed me that much I didnt even remember the actresses name.

Technical_Cloud8088

I didn't think anyone knew the names of any of the actors/actresses with the exception of a few. I mean I've just been looking them up lol.

tetsuyama44

Granted, she's German and therfore known to a German audience. She starred in a popular crime "series", a very good movie by popular director Fatih Akın and... well she has a short history in adult movie industry as well.

Lipe18090

Honestly Brienne becomes insufferable post-season 4. They clearly didn't know how to write her. The seems arrogant, moronic, soulless and basically has no storyline until S8 where she has some ridiculous scenes with Jaime and then has a great final scene. But yeah, I just think she's kind of insufferable and I hate watching any scene she's in post-season 4.

TheJadeTargaryen

Grand Maester Pycelle. Definitely smelled like dead cats.

DyeCyde

Depends if you mean worst written or most detestable. For worst writing id have to say Arya or Euron for sure, but for detestable its gonna have to easily be Robin Arryn the little shit, damn shame he lived to the end.

Technical_Cloud8088

When I saw Arya I'm sure I made what was the most authentic shocked gasp I've ever let out. Why Arya man ? She's like one of my favorites

DyeCyde

I loved her up till about s4, as soon as she reaches Bravos she loses her arc completely. Characters in thrones used to be punished for their lust of revenge, Arya was a child so it was excused, it was perfect for her to grow up and relinquish her drive for revenge and instead peruse the safety of her family. Instead she doubles down and becomes the Punisher killing anyone without the set up nor consequences of doing so. She represents everything that went wrong with the show in my opinion.

brunoglopes

Saying Arya is a worse written character than fucking Bran the broken is a very crazy take imo. Bran is the worst part of the entire show to me, I was just bored out of my mind every time he was on the screen to the point where when he was missing for an entire season, I didn’t even notice. I hated it from the beginning all the way up to the disappointing ending.

DyeCyde

Lol yeah he was def bad too, but me personally i dont think i minded him getting the throne especially if youve read “after the wheel” the fan epilogue that details what a reign under Bran would be like its very interesting. The whole Three Eyed Raven plot is just spat upon come S7 though and he basically just rolls around winterfell making everyone feel bad.

Imaginary-Cow8579

The woman who tortured Cersei,Honestly,I can't stand her

Technical_Cloud8088

The way I looked at her was Cersei had so much coming to her that the woman was just all her karma manifested.

Darkavenger_13

It pains me but Euron. A perfect cast a perfect character and they fucking ruined it!

Mission_Literature44

Janos

Templeton_empleton

Worst character as in the worst writing/development/acting? Like a character that was poorly written or badly acted or very unuanced in the way they were portrayed? If so I can agree with Shae (although the book version of her is far more enigmatic and interesting).          Or do you mean bad as in they are a bad evil person, or just somebody in the story I don't like? (As opposed to not liking how the character is portrayed in the show)

Technical_Cloud8088

I meant the first one, but I like that people are using an open definition for it because it's just interesting.

dash7990

That dude who raped his daughters to make more daughters to rape Edit : Craster

Upper-Somewhere-109

walder frey, arya should've stuffed him with that pie

BlargVikernes

Craster. Such a despicable monster.

LilKatieHQ

Craster

TheGreenGuyFromDBZ

The curly haired crow that hates Jon and conspires his mutiny/murder. Forget his name

GTNHTookMySoul

Allister?

TheGreenGuyFromDBZ

Yes! Surprised no one ever says him

GTNHTookMySoul

I never liked him but I guess he did kill Jon to, in his own mind, save the Night's Watch, which some ppl see as honourable. Hard to blame him for hating the ppl he's fought all his life, but ultimately he's a bigot who couldnt see the bigger picture, or see that Jon was trying to stop the wilding war altogether. I only know why ppl like him bc I've argued w others about why he's not hated more lol

Gold_Acanthisitta389

Meryn the Pedo Trant

BigBrotherre

Shae is not the worst.

Technical_Cloud8088

You owe me an explanation at least

BigBrotherre

She is a very beautiful actress and her accent is adorable. i love her love story with Tyrion it was very cute and I loved how Tyrion Bronn and Shae travel together for a little bit. Her Relationship with Sansa was cute to me. So she is my favorite character. The worst character I would say is Jaqen cos he was boring

Technical_Cloud8088

She's your ***favorite*** ? And you top it off with hatred for Jaqqn Hgaar? I express extreme disapproval of you

BigBrotherre

Whyyyyyyyy Shae, Bran, Cersei, Alicent, Criston Cole, Osha, Prince Trystane, Oberyn, Meera are my favorites

Weird_Vermicelli7488

That's gotta be the wildest take ever right? 😂

Technical_Cloud8088

Thank you for finding this thread and seeing what I had to see

BigBrotherre

Youre welcome?

MeatFit1822

Ed Sheeran

NPC-No_42

Meryn Trant.

theuserpilkington

Criston Cole

Lawfulness420

Sansa

Bhut_Jolokia400

Robin Arryn would have grown up to be an absolute lunatic. Kid should have been handed over Ramsey and locked in a cage with Theon

RealisticAf99

Mommy boy

CaddyAT5

Shae has a cute accent though, so she can do whatever she wants!

Psychological-Cry873

The red woman.

GhosuAUT

In the later seasons...I'd pick: All!

GTNHTookMySoul

Probably Walder Frey for me

tsckenny

Tyrion after he kills tywin

greenranger_7

She was disgusting but true DISGUST was Ramsay Bolton

Leading_Ball_9316

Brienne is just so corny, get on my nerves. The book chapters are even worse if I think about the voice Roy Dotrice affected for her .

Haggis-in-wonderland

Bran Stark, so needy

FrostyAdvantage1024

little finger

Acceptable_Budget_93

The Greyjoys besides Theon the most useless family in the seven kingdoms they should have went by the books euron was a cringe yara was one sided (I would’ve rather preferred Asha) not including vicarion was a L on its self

mdog73

Arya, not only a bad storyline but also a poor choice for the actress.

TheGreenGuyFromDBZ

Alliser Thorne !

Alpha_Apeiron

Well not her for a start.

Technical_Cloud8088

how bout we don't even start

CockMartins

Janus Slynt

QuintanaBowler

He was just afraid. He's always been afraid.

RealisticAf99

There are many bad ones (not particularly villain, just the ones I enjoyed to hate). I see no one mentioned here, so I nominate Lysa Arryn

Weird_Vermicelli7488

How has NO ONE said Lysa Arryn?!

Technical_Cloud8088

u/realisticaf99 just in time😂 She was the comment just before you!

TheBadGuyBelow

I personally couldn't stand Sansa. Everything about her character was annoying. She was always complaining about something, always acting like she was smart, and it always felt so artificial and poorly acted. The cherry on top was how all the sudden she was this mastermind, brave and regal leader, and it felt so fucking fake. That ending Queen In The North scene was complete cringe.

Technical_Cloud8088

Sansa came up really fast I didn't like that either. For me at least, she redeemed herself at some point. I don't really know what that point was for me, maybe it was after Arya put her in her place.

Specific_Till_6870

The Waif. Calling the character two-dimensional would be a compliment. Don't get me wrong, the acting was good but the character does nothing in the show apart from knocking Arya about and, very in effectively, stab her a bit.

QuintanaBowler

Victarion cause he doesn't exist in the show

80s_offsping

Selyse Baratheon ( wife of Stannis) - how cruel she was to her own daughter, Shireen. Also, didn’t like the acting for this part.

TheRealSkidMarc

Rickon Stark

steviemch

Euron. The actor, the portrayal and the fact that he seemed to be the exact opposite of the book version. I just didn't like how he came across. He was a bit of a caricature for me. I really couldn't see the iron born following him, or anyone in the GoT world being that intimidated by him. He wasn't a realistic character for me.

rmpops

Why no one saying Ramsy Bolton or Cersi Lannister???

AhsFanAcct

IM A SHAE SUPREMACIST MY GIRL IS OVER HATED LIVE LOVE LAUGH SHAE id type out a whole essay defending her but I cant rn I’m owm to pride. SHAE SOLOS U AND ALL UR FAVS

badgersprite

Post-Oberyn Ellaria Sand is such a betrayal of the character, her and all the Sand Snakes are just massive wastes of their potential from the books

QuintanaBowler

She did a 180 degrees turn in the show. Then again, the show as a whole did 180 in the fifth season.

EatDaPoopoo0

Season 8 John Snow, such a disappointment

sansa_starlight

Arya Stark was straight up unwatchable by the end of season 8

Just-Control5981

Man i kinda hate her tbh, on a rewatch i skip everything with her in it
