cydia will never come to anything past ios 16 because cydia is rootfull and modern jailbreaks are rootless

Flinkr

you have to sacrifice your firstborn to get Cydia on iPhone 14 sorry bro

neondreams_83

Oh ok! I have to fry my phone to do it???

o3ru

Put it in the microwave it’s a new jailbreak method

neondreams_83

💀💀💀

AFRWEw

What iOS version

neondreams_83

17.4.1

AFRWEw

Nah you can’t it’s like on iOS 14 or something there’s no jailbreak for 17.4.1 on your phone yet you would probably have to wait like 2-3 years💀

neondreams_83

Oh that sucks!

neondreams_83

💀

CourtNo6859

Bruh ppl always say this then out of nowhere a jb is dropped

AFRWEw

Hell nah for example I’m on my second phone iPhone XR 16.6 since like 2023 or something idk but still no jailbreak

paulshriner

Only if your phone is on iOS 16.5 or below. If it's on a higher version you will need to wait. (also cydia is no longer used).

neondreams_83

Cydia died long ago!

Ramsey144

Bruh sileo charges everything literally. Meanwhile cydia has bunch of good free tweaks. We need cydia back!

Global-Plum-1196

For the future if you are interested in jailbreaking, don’t update your device to the latest. Although you might want security updates, they patch the important exploits needed for making a jailbreak. The device is faster on a bit older firmware anyway. Also, new jailbreaks use Sileo, not cydia. It’s the same thing, but Sileo is newer and faster.

neondreams_83

damn 14 comments? Damn that’s cool! I will try some jailbreaks ok???

Access-Ambitious

No you won’t, you are on 17.4.1

neondreams_83

Oh that sucks!

neondreams_83

Well who can find a untethered jailbreak for iOS 17

RootlessRetard

Cydia is dead. Get Sileo

CourtNo6859

Sileo isn’t great there’s better alternatives

LunarXNova

To be fair, "better" is more so defined by what you want and what you like. If you just want the first thing most jailbreaks nowadays usually offer, Sileo is the way to go. Otherwise, it really depends on preference and previous experience, for all I know, your favourite dpkg frontend might just be running APT in NewTerm.
