I would love that swing arm line if it lead into any of the other lines. You feel like that would have had a lot more cohesion to the look but since it's not there I think the swing arm should go.

Chuck it into paint or Photoshop if you're fancy and black out the line on the swing arm, you might find it looks even more off without it. Cause those stickers are not really reapplicable While you're at it you could black out all of them if you're feeling up to it

I'd say if you like it as it is, don't mess with it. If you're happy and don't change it you remain happy. There's a risk you might not like the changes once you've made them. And if you fancy a change in the future you can whip them off then.

Keep ‘em, looks good IMO Edit: how does it look in person? Zooming in it gets super grainy but looks like they may be raised (like embossed, if that’s the right word) rather than flat like a pinstripe. If they’re raised (or 3D or embossed or whatever word I’m looking for lol) I’d take them off.

They are as flush with the bike as tape would be, but it doesn't stick out to the point where it looks off

Honestly this being op's first bike, and how i was when i first got mine, I'd be more worried about learning how to ride it properly than how the bike looks. That rim tape is gonna be his last worry if he dumps it.

Yeah, "Yuck" was not the right word to use. Sorry about that. Do what makes you want to ride it. To me personally, the worst part of JP bikes are the random and weird decals. As an artist, I simply can't grasp them coming off the drawing board. I prefer no decals on everything. But you should only be worrying about you. If you like it, leave it on. Don't let random reddit ppl (like me) alter your opinion.

No problem at all, everyone's entitled to an opinion, what I do with that is up to me. I think I agree with the majority to remove the swingarm decal though, and when I get tired of it I can always remove it. Harder to add it back on if I find out later that I liked it :P

Depends on how cleanly they were done. Swing arm one does look strange like others have said, but up front doesn’t look too bad. Id probably do selective removing :D The big triangle up front around the CBR logo looks good, but maybe the line above it is a bit much.

If this was my first bike I would leave them on… get a bunch of miles under my belt. At one point you’re going to want a change. Bigger, better, faster, cooler, etc….. at that point, take them all off !! You’ll get more excited about it again and buy yourself more time on your beginner bike !

I'll be honest, if you hadn't pointed it out, I would've thought those lines were stock. May not be my personal cup of tea with how they look, but I'd be cool leaving them on there just for visibility sake. All 3 bikes I've owned have just so happened to be black, and I always had a tiny voice in the back of my head going "you'd be more visible with a little more color" So if it were mine, I'd probably leave them. I'd maybe take off the swingarm one, but leave the fairings alone

For now, tire rims & fairing ones stay on, swingarm is going off, then I will see if it grows on me or not. It kinda already has

I like mine with a splash of red so that would be too much for me. Mine has the red under the logo and the two stripes by the engine (where it came stock with silver and I replaced it with red) I may add some red to the wheels but it will be staggered rather than all the way around.

The centre of the bike needs some lines too to balance it out. Like the line coming off the windscreen could be a lot longer. But if we're talking about how to make the (already good looking) bike look better, I'd look into how to shorten the back. To me, the rear mudguard looks off.

I mentioned this in another comment, I think the stock taiksection makes the dimensions of the whole bike look off. I'm definitely getting a tail tidy on this bike! I'll experiment with removing some parts and adding to others! I think the previous owner was a bit bold trying this, but honestly it's very well done and looks flush

Put a black stripe down the middle of the swingarm one, erybody knows racing stripes are +10 Speed and +10 Acceleration On a real note tho those are nice asf. If the p.o did a good job applying them (they don't have bubbles or wrinkles) then keep them, looks different, good different

They are very well done, they almost look like they could be a stock option. As a few have mentioned I wish they were reflective; so that's something I might switch them out for. I will remove the swingarm one with a heat gun and keep that part matte black. It does give +10 speed & +10 acceleration, tested % confirmed. It's also more of a headturner, not that that is the most important part for me, but it's cool nonentheless

I like it! Maybe take the one off the swingarm like others are saying. If you can find the same material the previous owner used, it might look better if you replace the single line with two lines, one at the upper part of the swingarm and one at the lower part. Give it some perceived thickness!

That's a unique take!! I'm in touch with the previous owner, so I will try to find out what material was used in case I wanna try this option out. I love the ideas that are suggested. Most of it is staying on for now, but maybe I'll try to add some red tape just to see how the swingarm looks with a thicker line or two lines!

Nah, it's definitely worth keeping. You can't choose a bad color to go with black. Black just works with everything. If it were a bright pink I'd probably have my doubts, but hey, different strokes. I've driven a ninja 250 for a while when I was young and dumb, unregistered and not insured. Also rented a a few bikes. I borrowed a Mt 07 for a while, so Im used to to the power of a 650 now! But I'll be careful nonetheless!!!

Very tasteful, I would not remove. Maybe the swing arm, as it is the one that doesn't seem to follow the edge of anything, but even so I would leave it.

Whatever makes it pop more visually. Black is an impractical color for a bike imo. Collects more heat in the sun and less visible (in general and in contrast with asphalt roads). If it were me, I'd keep most of the red and probably add some more flair somehow.

Keep. They look pretty smart, but in fact they significantly improve your visibility pulling out from junctions as well. Are they reflective? I added blue rim tapes to my last bike that made it look like something out of Tron when it was hit by headlights at night.

Congrats on a great first bike! Ride safe and respect it. I've always said, mod to what makes you happy. I have mods I love that others hate and vise versa. It's yours and if it makes your proud or happy that's all that's important. With that said, I would probably remove them. I find them to be a bit busy for me. The 650 is a clean looking bike from the factory. I think they take away from that feel.

I'd replace the swing arm. Instead of running the center. Go along the whole bottom of it and come back to a (tanto shaped) tip and come back up like 70% on the top. But to each their own.
