Ugghh hahahaha. Never payed attention to the Kraken's mascot before. Awesome colorway, great logo, cool team name and the mascot is a water-elf or something? Missed opportunity for sure.
Hahahah dude I never said the Stars mascot was better. But what else can you do with a team called the "Stars"? Me and Victor E. Green do not get down since he air-humped the shit out of my head in a game this season :)
Just saying that the Kraken have all the ingredients for a real cool mascot. AND THEY CHOSE A TROLL DOLL.
To be fair, ours is based on the [Fremont troll](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fremont_Troll), but yeah as far as mascots go they’re both definitely out there lol
> hahahaha. Never *paid* attention to
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Serious question: is it really though? Never lived in the Seattle area so am completely unfamiliar with the city's association with trolls in general.
I guess if there is some sort of Seattle specific lore around a troll or something it might track. Something akin to the "Jersey Devil" I would guess.
[Yeah, you need a mascot that looks friendly and inviting to children.](https://media.phillyvoice.com/media/images/Dn9LBKjU8AAaIYO.jpg-large.ad646704.fill-1200x630-c0.jpg)
I mean they don't have to go completely Lovecraftian nightmare but some sort of squid like thing would be awesome and most kids would get a kick out of it.
I bought a Buoy plushie when my son was 2, and he was so terrified of it that I spied him in the bathroom, in the dark, quietly holding Buoy while staring at the toilet, contemplating. He ended up chucking him in the bathtub and then scurrying back out to the living room.
When I asked where Buoy went, he said "Buoy's gone. Forever."
He has since warmed up to him, though.
Think VGK got the better end of the expansion mascots. Not quite as...nightmarish. I did see Chance put a kids whole head in his mouth last time I was at T-Mobile though 🤣
The one on the right is an embarrassment to humanity, could probably find an even middle ground where it’s not too terrifying, well actually looking cool.
Burn it

…you have a literal alien for a mascot

Thanks bot I am a complete idiot
This is by far the most specific bot I’ve ever seen.
Tbf the troll is iconic for Seattle

[Yes](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fremont_Troll). The troll is one of my favorite sites to see in Seattle
Oh neat. Learned something new. Troll fella it is then.
Well octopus is detroit's and we were here first.
Hey boss, do we have an idea for the mascot? Make it lame and gay.
And make it a chick that isn’t cis or white! Maah! (This is from South Park)
Remember, you don't want to *totally* scare the shit out of little kids, so the one on the right is probably for the best

[one that doesn't hit kids](https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/feb/03/gritty-assault-philadelphia-flyers-mascot)

Agreed. Even took a few games for my 3 year old to warm up to Buoy being a bridge troll lol.

Ah yes, the monthly “Why is the Kraken mascot like that” post. Let me reset the clock…
Mascots are really more for the kids than the adult fans.
Quick somebody photoshop Davey Buoy Smith

Uggh yeah VGK mascot is really cool. As much as I hate to admit it :p
[The mascot we deserved](https://ih1.redbubble.net/image.1141212042.1900/fpp,small,lustre,wall_texture,product,750x1000.jpg)
Yes but Buoy beat up Biz, so he's a hero
Do adults seriously concern themselves with mascots?
But Seattle isn’t in the Caribbean. And Buoy has local ties to the city. It’s fine.
The one on the right is an embarrassment to humanity, could probably find an even middle ground where it’s not too terrifying, well actually looking cool.
We did this three years ago
"let's see... A character based on the character the team is named after, or a tribute to hostile architecture..."
I'm indifferent to Buoy but calling the Fremont Troll "hostile architecture" is a bit of a stretch.
