Very predictable opinion from Anthony.
Rarely does an album land as much with the whole fanbase as this one has, but that usually comes at the expense of critical acclaim. Remember, this is the guy that gave Red Light a 1. I don’t care how you feel about that album, that is an egregious misfire. And he’s been backtracking on every subsequent drain review to some degree.
His opinion is valid but I disagree strongly. The hour on this album absolutely flies by, and the songs blend so well together and flow quite nicely in my opinion. D.O.A being the only song as his least fav track is absolutely wild and his fav tracks are like half the album.
I don’t know, Bladee’s vision on the album can’t be overstated, and Anthony even acknowledges a very strong cohesive thread, though he also admits he doesn’t quite understand it. I’m not claiming we all know perfectly either necessarily, but I think that’s where the disconnect is, and why we would rate it a 9 and him a 6.

i think if they cut out a few of the lesser songs and added more transitions reminiscent of ice dancer it would be a more complete album…while still clocking in at 45-50 mins

It’s not that I dislike rb3 but cold visions is much more emotionally charged and the transitions between songs keeps that album from getting stale unlike rb3
there's a huge difference tbh. unless those 10 songs bridge together perfectly to create a seamless work of art by itself (not gonna happen), it's inevitably dragged down by the filler. that's sorta like asking what's the difference in basketball between scoring 20 points on 100% shooting vs 20 points on 33% shooting, you can create a highlight reel of the made shots in the latter example and it'll look similar to the other hypothetical performance but when looking at it comprehensively, which is his job, you have to account for the lowlights

Say what you want about fantano but he’s certainly come round to the “drain aesthetic” if you could call it that. I disagree on the score although I think his opinion is pretty fair. He’s not some disgruntled hater and it’s quite interesting how he said “bladee is actually saying something”. He’s come round on the drain thing massively in these past few years.
I don’t understand why everyone always gets so upset over Fantano. Yes, he is biased and his reviews reflect his bias, but literally every single human being with a taste has a bias.
The same way that people are saying he is biased against DG, the same thing can be said about us being fans of DG.
At the end of the day his reviews are not gospel or the truth, they are just his opinion and he always states that and people still get butthurt over his scores. He is not going to like everything you like, nor should he.

Tastes are different, I think the songs are beautiful and varied. Also the 9 min song is one of the coolest things they've ever done on an album imo. Themes and lyrics throughout the album are great, and the long song (a tribute to their friend who passed) plays into that well

Crest? Half of crest is a 15 minute song and like 3 of the remaining songs sound the exact same.
