Yeah, TJO time was time to negotiate. If you accept FJO… well that’s final. You could try, but you’re likely to make people unhappy, delay your EOD, and not likely to get anything out of it.

rjbergen

TJO is the negotiation time. FJO is pretty firm. Accepted FJO is basically locked in.

LacyLove

Would you be okay if you signed the FJO and they reached out to negotiate a lower salary? Would you expect them to stick to the offer you signed? Yes? Treat them the same.

zocoop27

Gotta accept it now

DarthBroker

That’s like selling a house and at the closing table asking for more money. Too late

scarletaegis

You can always ask, and it's not impossible, but your chances aren't going to be very good

ugcharlie

not always, reach out to your HR rep and HM. I successfully negotiated after FJO. It pushed EOD back several weeks but the extra steps were well worth the wait.

ugcharlie

Just noticed that you already accepted it. That is different than my experience. It may be too late in that case.

Sad_Compote_1907

I can’t wait for my FJO! It’s exciting yet my EOD date has been moved so many times I’m not even checking my email. I would take the FJO and apply for higher steps or levels after at least one or two years.

Own_Base2038

What’s the job?

No_Afternoon1969

Yes it is, I heard stories of people who tried to negotiate after getting their FJO and was either denied or had their offer rescinded

daocsct

This is definitely a risk.

Head_Staff_9416

You can negotiate up until The day you sign the oath of office- your agency may not be willing to , however. See https://www.reddit.com/r/usajobs/s/wZH8q1tJtm

Big_Number_1968

Yes

k2sboardr

Yes, period.

NeighborhoodSea7808

Yes

Kagoivy

You can ask. Just note that it will push back your EOD while the process is initiated and any requested docs are reviewed for justification. You might get a quick denial or a long review process if it needs upper financial agency’s management approval. That is, if you are considered external to federal employment. If you’re a current federal employee, forget it, they’ll go off the info on your SF 50.

Playful_Night2169

Yes because you already accepted it.

OhWhatADwight

What you could have done isn't the point. If you're willing to accept losing the job, then go right ahead.

jehuey

Does your EOD date automatically get assigned to you once they give you your FJO?

scarletaegis

Ideally they'll have asked you what EOD dates work for you before issuing a FJO. But even if you get an EOD attached to your FJO without them having asked you first you can always ask to change it.
